I believe the black hose looking tube that connects to the lower right of the AC panel is for the ambient temperature sensor being your model Sonata has automatic climate control. Senses the inside air temp of your vehicle so it knows when to raise or lower the fan speed and temp balancer to keep set temperature automatically.

Great. Now can you do a video as to how to replace the grommet for the radio antenna in the back driver side quarter panel. I have the conversion short flexible antenna in lieu of the retracting one that already broke. Now I just need to replace the grommet too since weathering made it brittle and cracked.

Hi friend, I am restoring my old 2002 sonata gold, and the stereo is nonfunctional - hence seeking your help pls ... Would it be possible to guide where to find a working old stereo - As I wanted to retain the stock look and feel. The one you had removed is it in good condition still ?

I see from the video that you used amplified outputs rather than preamp outputs. But your original H290 stereo was externally amplified. So you wired amplified outputs into an amplifier? Not saying that would fail or do harm, but I imagine the voltage levels would be off. What did you do to control external amplifier power (pin 12)?
@bryzgarage5028
@bryzgarage5028 5 лет назад
I didnt do anything to counteract this issue, because of what you said is wayyyyyy over my head....lol. I do know the sound is very, very loud, even on volume #2, but I just thought it was the stereo due to other comments on similar stereo install videos on RU-vid. But there doesnt seem to be any issues in regards to the sound or functionality. So if you have any thoughts/ideas, let us all know. Thanx

@@bryzgarage5028 First thing: volume is high because you have power-amplified signals into your factory amplifier. If your head unit has preamp outputs for all four channels, you could use those instead. If not, like mine, add a "line output converter" to reduce the signal level. Cheap. Gotta work out wiring harness.
@dismaltrigo3303
@dismaltrigo3303 5 лет назад
@@bryzgarage5028 second thing: you must have connected something to pin 12 or the amplifier would be dead. Maybe you connected the blue (power antenna) wire to a blue/white wire? That might actually work, depending on the head unit. I just hooked it up so it's always on.
@bryzgarage5028
@bryzgarage5028 5 лет назад
@@dismaltrigo3303 if I remember right, I did do that. So far it's worked out fine...for a really cheap stereo.

@@dismaltrigo3303 ahhhh....maybe I'll have to do that. It works ok, but it is definitely loud...lol

I think we all go through that, but it really isn't as complicated as you expect it to be. As far as the wiring goes, its all about matching the correct wires together.
