De verdad que me sorprendiste al subir este video, eso me deja saber que este vehículo aún sigue duro en las calles. Cada día más razón para seguir metiéndole dinero a mi Explorer 2002 ❤️💪🙏
I’m not a very old person but, this was the very first car I remember being in, during the early to mid 2000s, many memories My parents didn’t have much money around when I was born so they bought it used, it had history being used by a drug dealer before we bought it, according to them…
My family had a 91 Ford Explorer limited when I was young. It was handed down to my sister and ended its life around 2013 with 290k miles. The tranny blew so we put a new one in and sold it. Engine still was solid.
I had the 2004 model, bad transmision, bad transfer case, lots of electric problems, was imposible to have a conversation inside because of the noise of the loose plastic. The only good part of it was the engine.
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer same engine and color but some changes. Mine has 210,000 miles and it still gets me wherever I wanna go. Transmission does jerk when put in reverse though, it’s a good SUV
Have an 04 Explorer myself with the V8. Best part about it is the 2 big holes that have rusted out of my muffler so now it sounds insane, and rumbles and backfires LOL
Oh yea my girl is going strong at 20 years old and everytime I remote start her she sounds like a diesel jacked up on steroids. Kinda worrying but still makes people say “damn!”
I'm the original owner of an 02 Limited with 4.6L V8. This is car has 192k miles. It has not been driven in winter weather since 2005. I drive it to Florida or keep it parked in my garage. Original engine, Trans, exhaust, zero body rust, all systems are operational. I've thrown a few dollars into it (oil change at 4k miles no exceptions), flush cooling system @3 years, change Trans @ 50k. Just normal maintenance...great vehicle to drive.
Right!! Lol. It probably did crack, but they got it fixed. The aftermarket piece to fix it is like 700 Ford didn't warranty it. Even Ford said all these crack from factory
@@mauricebarry8858 Yes. The first tyranny did just that. Replaced it and the next one was better but still was sluggish. Eneded up replacing that one as well
@@alexandercalderon7098 That's awesome. They're good vehicles for the most part.. until they're not. I also have an 05 Mercury Montego and it was a beast until.. well it wasn't. Lol older Ford for me have all had Tranny problems eventually
I love that body style explores for some reason it’s like it has its own personality when I drive my explore I really enjoy it a lot actually too much but when I drive my Chevy trailblazer I’m thinking the hole time in why I didn’t drive the explore anyone els has a connection with that body style explore or is it just me?
We have a 2004 Explorer with the 4.0 V6! It’s not the best car in any way but damn sure has given us incredible family memories and all three of us kids have learned to drive her. She is sitting at a quarter million miles now but has had two tranny rebuilds and I had rebuilt the motor myself after all the crappy plastic timing chain cassettes exploded. Otherwise I love her and she is family to us all. I’ve been fortunate enough to have her handed down to me from my parents. The Explorer is my second home in a way. Will never get rid of her, she has been one hell of a car!
4:20 Shame on you ford for not keeping that shifter and counsel setup on the later ford explorers. So much more ergonomic to use and space for storage below!!! You automotive engineers, why do you remove such great novelties from consumer life?
I didn't expect this! I have a 2005 Explorer Limited V6 4.0 4x4, same color and with all the optionals equipment, with the captain back seats. Im from Paraguay and i love mi Ford! 145.000 milles and it runs and look great.
I had a 2002 Murcury Mountaineer. It was my first car and it bore me to death. I do now have a little nostalgia for it, but I enjoy the 350z I traded it in for far more.
I have a Ford Explorer 2002 black but the seats are leather instead of plush and there's not a third row seating but how is it that his screen is touch screen above the AC in the front I wish I had touch screen how did he get touch screen in that older car I wish I had that mind cuz I want Bluetooth so bad without having to get the little plug in Bluetooth devices
The Ford Explorer third generation was launched in 2000 or 2001 for 2002 model year. FOR 2006 MODEL YEAR THE FOURTH GENERATION CONTEANUES TO BE THIRD GENERATION BUT A FACELIFT
I had a 2003 V8 XLT in high school hand me down. The good ole days, not a care in the world and not an ounce of common sense. Honestly big mistake to give to a young car lover like i was back in the day, has the tow package w the 3.73 lsd rear end too!
My dad has an 2004 its great but the touchscreen aint working the back right window isnt working and the roof has a tear but other than that its great!
I love my 2002 Explorer XLS with a 4L. remember the Intake Manifold, Radiator and Thermostat housing (2 pcs) are made of plastic. I had to replace them at 77k miles. being twenty years old, it should be on a preventive maintenance plan. I also replaced the Ball Joints Tie Rod Ends @ 81K miles.
@@mrbears34 The Windstar was a 1999 model, and the Explorer was a 2002. The transmissions went out on both prematurely, and also they had electrical issues. We got rid of both of them in 2006 and replaced with a Toyota Highlander.
