The TNT/NBC era was so great, they even made the Busch races seem really awesome! And how cool was it seeing the big-league drivers calling these races like Smoke did here?
Damn I wish they still raced here.. its such a shame and a disgrace that this place was scratched off the schedule for IMS. LORP would host a packed house of 30,000 while a Nationwide race at IMS today struggles to get the same amount.. and thats being generous.
I agree. This year's Nationwide race drew less than the Grand Prix of Indy IndyCar race (which ran at the beginning of the Month of May) and the TUSCC Brickyard Grand Prix (which ran the same weekend as the Nationwide and Cup race), and those ran on the road course!
+Anthony Kernich That would be awesome. It is such a great gritty short track and needs to be on tour for at least the trucks and busch series. Thank you for the info Anthony!
I remember Jon Wood- he was that one guy in Roush's 2000s stable of racers that never made it to the big time but I thought he would. At the time of this race, Roush had a Fab Four of Kurt Busch/Mark Martin/Matt Kenseth/Jeff Burton, Biffle in the Busch Series, and soon Carl Edwards in the Truck Series.
