I have a 2002 Tundra 2 door, V6, 5 speed manual, full 8 foot bed. It is the best truck that I have ever had. Nearly 200k on it and it runs better than a new one.
I have a 2002 SR5 4x4 4.7L V8 Access Cab Tundra with 290k on it. My dad bought it in 2003 with like 2k miles on it. This is hands down one of the best pickups ever created. They run forever with very minimal maintenance. Just keep up on regular fluid changes and she runs as smooth as day one. I usually change oil between 3k-5k miles, and ice even once changed it at around 8K and the oil looks absolutely delicious still, just a beautiful clear honey consistency every single time. I’m actually about to go outside and do a power steering fluid flush-for its FIRST TIME EVER! That fluid has 290k miles on it, and I’m just changing it to change it. Hoping to tighten up my turning radius at least anything at all would be awesome. That is actually one of the very few complaints I have-the turning radius is petty awful. Besides that, these are god damn amazing trucks.
@@zenlunatic25 Yeah the turn radius is about that of a bus. Back in the day there was a song that went "Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around"....... My wife has a Jeep Liberty that can turn tight enough that if you turn left then the left rear will make a circle of about 4-6 feet. Same thing for the right turn radius. I guess my truck would make about a 12-16 foot mark in the gravel. Does yours have the digital clock below the ashtray/drink holder ? If so, does it work properly ? Mine randomly flashes bright and then works normal for a little while. It also doesn't keep the correct time EVER. That old saying that a stopped clock is right twice a day doesn't work because mine will randomly pick up a few minutes or hours. My Tundra is a manual 5 speed so when I first got it I thought that I was maybe bumping the buttons. But nope. Its just tarded.
@@c.blakerockhart1128 hahaha, yes I have the digital clock but it has worked perfectly since day 1. Never an issue whatsoever. Have you ever tried swapping it out with a different one? You can probably pick one up at a u-pull-it for like $1. I do have issues with the rear view mirror with small lcd display in it that shows either your direction digitally, SE, E, NE, etc etc …or what’s supposed to be the temperature outside. The temp gauge doesn’t work correctly though. It’s always wildly offf the correct temp. I assume I need a new thermostat for it or something.
@@c.blakerockhart1128 with so many issues, you might benefit from installing an android head unit and then buying an Bluetooth obdii sensor. After installing the Torque app, you can sync it to your Bt obdii and get LOADS of real time data on your truck. From checking fault codes as they pop up and the app will define the fault code, not just tell you the number-so you can figure out what exactly the issue is quickly, to figuring out the temp of of all sorts of parts on the truck and loads of other stuff. The app is super deep so you can get more info than you’ll ever use I’m sure. Anyways. I enjoy having it. Bt obdii’s are like $25 and the android head units run anywhere from like $150-$600
@@zenlunatic25 I have looked at a replacement clock. They are around $100-$150 . I don't know where you live but in my area of Alabama they are not easy to find in working order. My mirror is just a mirror. My Tundra is a 2 door, hand crank window, manual transmission, no bells or whistles. It doesn't even have a tachometer. That (tach) is one thing that I really wish it had because the engine is so quiet that I had to learn when to shift based on feel and speed. I think that the top speed would be around 80-85 mph. But I could probably pull a house with it. Very strong but not fast. If I want to go fast then I drive one of the other vehicles.
I’d reserve that descriptive for the big three that are being recalled for transmissions, engines, etc when they are only a couple of years old! Not a 22 year old truck that is probably running strong in every other way!😂😂😂
