I feel like this is one of the few interviews that Thom isn’t just rambling trying to go around a journalists poorly formed questions. He seems so comfortable in this interview
Relatively few people have listened to this interview and yet it's one of Radiohead's most enlightening. In other interviews they alluded to problems they experienced as a band after OK Computer but here they elaborate on them and describe how they transcended them. Plus, as another commenter says, the full band contributes to the dialogue. Check it out!

it's a very interesting phenomenon that they are all so open at the same time for this.. it means something must have preceded this interview that brought about this reflectiveness and optimism in them all. maybe they all had a big therapy session :D. Colin however, may be an outlier here. not so happy
I know, I know! I equate them. their style of singing is similar, imo.they can sing around a note and ignore a beat, and defy pedantic musical constructs. kate bush might be a close third.
I love seeing old interviews with younger pop musicians and reflecting on what they have done since. They really were centred and together as people. Great stuff, thanks for posting.
People in the comments say that his son was in the same room as him, so maybe he was touching or playing with something he shouldn't be playing/touching, I dunno.
I had thought Tom was just playing off his former comment of not being a band for self glorified reasons, then playing the role of someone ordering someone else around, as a joke

I feel like such a rotten lazy fan, I LOVE their work... but do i follow? I just thought they'd stop...& i hated the computer addiction & could never sit still long enough... frickin neck injury i guess too. But I'm seeing all this now and I wish I could just go back to like... well shit, high school days no thanks😂 But maybe... ugh not still 2005 actually yeah i see why😅 Hope i see them someday anyway...
