How on earth does one remove the wiring harness plate/plastic plugs in the passenger side footwell? I can locate this harness but I can figure out how to release the plugs 2 in order to inspect for a short in the wiring. I am almost 100% sure it is in the door jamb as you have described. I generally work on BMWs; this is the first time HONDA is putting up a serious fight on a repair. 2003 honda civic. Circuit breaker to pass. window motor shorting instantly when the fuse is replaced = short. Any help would be awesome. Where or what do I pinch, squeeze, whatever in order to conduct a continuity check in the pass. footwell? Thanks.
I think I experiencing the worst case scenario. Relays, fuses, switches and regulator motor are all good. Still, passenger right front won't go down or up and the rear drivers side goes down but not up.
Thanks so much! I got the driver side window stuck closed since it gradually stopped working/going down. The driver side rear passenger window works, but when it has been raining and it’s cold it almost doesn’t go up at all. So, what do you do about a slow window, caused during colder, rainy days?
@@SrtoBernardo I don’t have that vehicle anymore, but I made sure I did not use that window when it’s been raining. My thoughts are that water is getting in the window seal. If you take the panel off the door you may find the protective layer is exposing the layers of the components. I was planning on replacing or checking the regulator first. I did look up “Window Barely Goes Up especially when wet? 2003 Honda Civic”. Perhaps, you’ll get some ideas there.
Thank you for this! The fuses were all good. I could hear the motor turning but window wouldnt move. It was the window regulator. The cable had gotten tangled...and then it broke.
I have a 2003 Honda Civic as well and my driver side buttons started smoking and outta nowhere my passenger side and rear left side windows won’t go down and I changed the cables and buttons and the fuse from the fuse box under the hood and it still won’t work so maybe it’s the fueses from the interior
I need help with my factory alarm. It stopped working 9 months ago and started after i needed AAA to let me in because my lock cylinder isnt working. My fobs wont work and batteries are good. When i open either door the alarm goes off. I put the key in the ignition my alarm goes off but i can drive still. I had to take out my horn fuse for the noise but the lights still blink. Any suggestions of where to start?
i jsut got a 2001 Civic. All 4 windwos work. Yet only drivers lock and hatchback lock open electric. My guess either the wires or the actuators. I don't hear any weird noises from those 3 doors.
I am about to buy a used 2003 Civic 146,000 miles. Driver side window works but all other windows either do not work or work sometimes. Could this be the relay or the fuses under the steering wheel or something more? Thanks
When I was driving my rear back window would not rolled up.I noticed a smell kind of like melted.I did check the fuses. Do you think it could be the relay that caused it to go out and given order of a smell like melted. Please help me out.I have a Honda 2002 Civic EX.
It could be the window regulator (motor, cable and track). They can work well in one direction and bind in the other direction. Sometimes they will work if you help lift the window by hand while pressing the close button.
Very nice. Having a problem with my 2003 Honda CRV driver side window only. I also know that if you install a new master switch, that sometimes you have to reset the computer chip in the master switch. However I don’t think that is the problem right now… It might be a wiring issue in the door loom. Going to check the fuses under the dash first, And then try that little trick you showed by keeping your finger on the switch pressed while opening and closing the door. Very helpful video. Cheers
@lehewtech I have a 2001 civic that only the drivers side window goes down and at one time the rear driver side use to go down as well but now every time I put in a good fuse it blows it out. The other fuses remain well but I still have no power to the passenger front and back.
I have the same problem, it used to work fine.passenger and rear don't work. I replaced the main power switch but did not fix it. The first fuse starting from the left always blows out on me. Still figuring this out
@@franciscoespinoza4838 no. I'm thinking just running a wire directly to the door .my rear right door is the one that doesn't work with the main switch.
Hey man I really don't know what's going on but I have power even when my key is out only to the driver side window the passenger one stops as normal when the key is off but the driver side stays on and the little light stays on I just happen to get in my car around 1am and noticed that the window will just roll down even when it's locked
