20:16 The sponsor? NEXTEL. The event. The NEXTEL All-Star Challenge Mike Joy: The 1989 All-Star and Winston Cup Champion! Yes Mike. We all miss Winston too!
One of the many reasons I was a chad Jimmie fan chad himself out there with his crew helping them you don’t see crew chiefs those or these days doing that.
Still to this day have no idea what Kurt Busch was thinking. Tore up a lot of good cars, and Gordon and Kahne still finishing 6th and 7th makes me think they would be competing for the win had they not had major damage.
2004 Nextel All-Star Challenge Location: Concord, North Carolina Track: Lowe’s Motor Speedway Type of race track: Speedway Starting cars: 24 Finishing cars: 16 Laps: 90 Cautions: 4 Red flags: 1 Pole Winner: Rusty Wallace (2) Most laps led: Ryan Newman (12) (49 laps led) Segment 1 Winner: Tony Stewart (20) Segment 2 Winner: Ryan Newman (12) All-Star Race Winner: Matt Kenseth (17)
Two NASCAR 06 Total Team Control Challenges 1. Jeff Gordon 24 DuPont Chevrolet Monte Carlo A Rainbows End 47:32 in the race he wrecked out as it put a damper on the return to the rainbow scheme as luckily it placed in 6th at the finish line as in the challenge it was the player’s opportunity to recreate history by getting inside the rainbow machine and escaping the accident to keep Gordon in the hunt for his 4th all star race victory. 2. Matt Kenseth 17 DeWalt Power Tools Ford Taurus Excuse Me While I Win This Race 2:02:13 in the race he made the bump n run on the 12 of Ryan Newman with two laps left as he went on to score the million dollar victory as in the challenge same synopsis with two to go the player is behind the wheel of the 17 car and he would receive a bump from the 12 if he catches you as the objective is to hold off the pack of cars to win like he did.
They don't call him "Matt the Brat" for nothing....I rooted for him on the local track Slinger, but he was known for that. Newman's control kept that car from the outside fence.
Yeah, what killed me back then was that it was ok for certain people to bump other cars out of the way, but when it happened to them they would get so pissed and their fans were worse. Earnhardt St., Stewart, Gordon, a few more bumped people out of the way all the time, but when it happened to them, they would fight, throw helmets, bitch and moan in interviews, and always, always, get revenge and Nascar allowed it. As for this-Kenseth never touched him. They raced hard, Kenseth got him loose and made the pass cleanly. Ryan had no problem with it. Ryan Newman was the toughest man in Nascar to pass. You had your work cut out for you.
one problem with this Era of racing a bunch of blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. then a race break for what? I stopped watching and caring who won. when Bill Elliott won his last race. since chase has come on. I don't watch I just watch highlights. to much-needed blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
