I was tired of seeing the lack of videos on our X Runners despite the truck being out for almost 20 years. Here, my good friend and I install the SOS performance 1.5”/2” drop kit for the front and rear. If you think this video was helpful please like, comment, and subscribe! Thank you! It frustrated me how there was no video guide to doing this install. True, it’s straightforward and easy to do but there’s also videos on how to change a tire and being able to see it before you do it just gives you that nice feeling inside knowing you can do it. I hope this video helps you!

Driver side will always have the infamous “taco lean”, due to excessive weight. Battery, driver, and gas tank are the main contributors. To correct the issue, they sell .25 top strut plates for 05-15 tacomas. Just an fyi if you wanted to even it out.

I’m planning on notching mine…….its taking me over 13 years to finally decide to do it. I just want to find someone that will take care of her and do the job right.

Have you already been on the sos performance drop? The ride quality definitely deteriorated after lowering it and I can only imagine the quality after notching the frame 😭

@@G-Ro619 actually I’m on the DJM control arms!! Doesn’t ride any better. I’m going with performance xii coilovers and notching the rear. Wish me luck…..

Can't wait to work on my XR. Just picked it up from a family member for cheap! (It does need a transmission rebuild though) And yeah I agree, where are all the XR videos at? BTW that DB is dumped, prob not compared to the bagged IS but yeah it's dumped.

I feel like other owners are gatekeeping the XRs 😂😂 Goodluck with yours man. At the end of the day, they are 2nd gen tacomas and these things are built to last. And yeah I just wish the DB visually looked dumped 😭 brand new wheels and tires so I don’t want to switch to a different setup so soon

Handles better but man every bump if you’re going faster than like 5mph the rear bump stops hit the axles lol. Thanks for watching!

im getting this kit for my 5 lug base with XR bilstein struts and coils. Would the install in the front be just like this or do i need anything else?

Yeah it should be the same. If anything, the placement of the upper/lower control arms might be a bit different but it’s the same concept to install. Just slightly different locations. Good luck with your install 🤙🏽
