Your video on the steering box was excellent. Straight forward, to the point. It saved the day for me. If I lived close to you I would use your shop. Thanks.
Great video and diagnosis regimen. I have the exact same symptoms in my 2005 6.0 Super Duty - No leaks...and no pressure. The last thing I suspected was the pump...but this is what my scan gauge readings are pointing to. Same as yours. Thanks for posting this. Lots of new stuff I hadn't seen before.
I'm glad you were an honest tech. You're a hard find. With there were more like you in this world. Great video. I'm looking for reasons of having no base oil pressure at all. Cheers!
I have shop air hooked up into the ICP port on the passenger side. I hear no leaks. This on a 2005 6.0 Am I getting air to the whole system or do I need to feed shop air through the IPR only? I dont wanna replace the HPOP if that isn't the issue. I can only build to 15psi at the ICP sensor while cranking.
You need to block off the IPR valve when you do that or it just bypasses it back into the crank case so yeah you did it wrong. Make sure you have the right oil filter there is a different one that can cause that also. Btw did you end up fixing it?
@@fuckjewtube69 I did not, unfortunately. I had no business working on that 6.0, but the customer insisted on me putting a new HPOP in it, I advised against it as I told him it would probably not fix the no-start issue. He said to do it anyway, because he had 'Googled it' so I did. That didn't fix it either. Still wouldn't start. He paid me for switching out the HPOP, then it was towed back to a local shop in his area. He was 7-800 miles from home and on vacation when it happened.
Interesting crank no start, you must have quickly recognized this from past experience. I was still thinking of spark and fuel, and you had already skipped well ahead. Noteworthy point at the end, I guess air in the system prevents it from building pressure so air needs to bleed off. Is there a special procedure to bleed air?
I always found it kinda weird that the turbo on the 6.0 is on top just looks funny in my opinion. They are awesome sounding turbos and engines. They sound like a fricken jet straight piped! But they are the most unreliable pickup diesels I heard because people supe them up and the thing can’t handle it. Blows gaskets, radiators, turbos, the engine blows. Etc etc . Bulletproofing them I hear is the way to go if you want horsepower.
