Really? He is still touring ? 😁 Letting Go, sounds like. He is getting old and is slowly falling apart. I decided to ditch a lot of baggage myself recently. It's about. Throwing away the right things. I guess. Aging gracefully. Without Surfing. I don't think Kelly Slater would have an identity. Might get confused when he looks in the mirror. Maybe it pays more to keep going, than to stop. In his position. Sure. It might cost money. To keep going. But without a life, there is nothing. Maybe. I will hold onto life. Go bankrupt and give it one more shot? (Shooting at the secret goal).
I'm a Kelly Slater fan, I also enjoy the power and the drive in Andy Iron's surfing. I love them both, lol, but I do think that there was a misjudgment at J-Bay. Kelly did not ride out of that last wave on his feet. But surfing is a great sport, I love it. We're all human and it's possible that a mistake was done at J-Bay, but that doesn't take anything away.
Hard to say about the JBay result but I think it might’ve been over scored. As much as I love Kelly I think the judges let the crowd call it a little and how could you not it was the perfect wave to come right at that moment like a script. I do think though Andy would’ve taken the world title that year if he won jbay. He ended up winning Japan,France and eventually pipe
Love Kelly Slater but I’m sorry I don’t think I would say he’s better than a Wayne Gretzky or Michael Jordan etc. …. Otherwise Michael Schumacher would be in the same category as Kelly Slater. No doubt about it Schumacher is one of the greatest drivers that has ever lived is the greatest athlete that ever walked the planet. I mean they said Schumaker was the greatest driver ever nobody would ever catch him and I’m not sure if Hamilton has six or seven now but he’s close so there’s always another guy
WTH. I feel like you just wanted to write about Michael Schumacher 🤣 And yes Slater is the equivalent to Jordan and Gretzky in that he’s the best of all time in his sport if you’re measuring it by titles and achievements. It’s not disputable.
@@jblo76 So then I guess if we have a badminton champion…. That person could also make the list right. An individual sport is different than team sports
@@mrkoolio4475 Going back to your original comment, the whole point of those types of comparisons is to reference someone who’s THE greatest in their sport (not just “one of the greatest”) and compare them to a very well known GOAT athlete and household name (like a Jordan or Muhammad Ali). Whether it’s a team or individual sport is not really the point.
