You could have drilled hole between that ring into the cam end and put in a basic spring pin to keep it from rotating again.

great video! my car has a p0340 code and I replaced the sensor and the pig tail and still throws the code nut only when I rev it up high or give it a lot of gas while driving. under normal driving with light to moderate throttle I get no check engine light.

Mazda 2.3 can be a problem when you swap non drive by wire and cable throttle , they use different crankshaft pulley and cam shaft trigger .

Could that problem ultimately cause motor to throw a rod if you're say stuck in the snow revving high revs
