2005 Mercedes CL600 Sport - One Take

I was really hoping for him to throw out a casual, "bro 600 is best," at some point. Dude perfectly matched to the car though. Love the big V12 mercs.

Styling has really held up on this one.

These big "old" Mercs are fascinating. Thanks for showing us such an interesting car.

This thing is like driving a luxury Millenium Falcon, the V12 with the two turbos immense. The engine is a hyperdrive, foot to floor it takes a second to respond as if asking you "are you sure?" and everything streaks past you.

I have the S65 version of this body (W220), and all I can say is: what a machine! A work of art! The car is 12 years old and still turning heads! I swear, when driving in city ppl look and points at the car, behind every traffic light others are looking while waiting for green :). One MAJOR downside with these cars (the 500, 600, 55 and 65) are of course the maintenance! You really gotta love the car for keeping it and spending money on it! The second service (B service where all fluids, all filters and 24 spark plugs are changed) I had in June last year costed me 2500 dollars. If you can deal with the costs I say you buy yourself one in good condition and enjoy the ride! :)

I really love the big engines from Mercedes. The way they work with power and noise is just beautifully unique.

If you want a CL-class, consider getting a CL-500 for your first one, half the price of a 600, if you still like it after 2 years then get a CL600. Biggest issue on the W215 is the hydraulic suspension.

If you buy a great example of this car, and can afford to maintain it, rolling up to almost any scenario you're the boss. This very chill owner seems to understand that. I guess the average monthly ownership bill (service aso included) would be around what i can afford to spend on a car *period*, but i do like them. Great choice :)

Had a chance to buy a W221 S65 and then it fell through...ended up with an E60 M5 instead, which I do love. However, I still sort of wonder what it would've been like to have the twin-turbo V12 Benz. When test-driving it, the power was just insane...I've never felt anything like it. The torque was just incredible. This engine (and the amazing ABC suspension) make for an incredible driving experience. Hopefully someday I get a chance to own one. I love how much this guy knows about his car, probably more than anyone else I've seen in your videos - sound quality is really great here too - but I'm sure the crazy quiet interior helps. Would love to see you do a 65 one of these days. I know it's similar, maybe an S65? Just for kicks. If you maintain these cars properly, they really aren't bad - there's just a few very expensive things to watch out for. You can avoid that if you maintain it properly. The 221/216 chassis cars don't even seem to have any problems. Spark plugs suck on the V12, that's about the worst regular maintenance you'll do. Engine/transmission are bulletproof. You might end up with a burned out intercooler pump motor at some point, easy and cheap to fix with a stronger aftermarket unit that won't die. Brakes for the V12 AMG cars especially are a lot, but you can better, cheaper aftermarket rotors and pads than the Mercedes parts. Racing Brake in particular makes far superior rotors to the OEM units and they're much cheaper. I don't know what the hell MB is on with the pricing on the rotors for these cars, I literally don't know how they come up with the pricing. Other than that, not too much to worry about. Just keep it up, like any other high performance car.

this is probably the cleanest W215 CL i'v ever seen, it's clean inside, outside and under the hood .. and man the color is absolutely gorgeous .. but i have to say the owner is calm in a very creepy way, next thing we will hear about matt is (missing : a 6FTsomething male, kinda chubby with his hair growing in the lower side of his head rather than the top, last seen "bowling" with niko bellic if found please put him back in the canyons) ... but seriously beautiful car and great video .. keep up the good work brother !

Just for future reference when you're driving a five speed transmission benz Matt, put it in the sport mode and click one of the paddles that way the transmission will auto upshift. It is very slow if you just do manual mode and you'll bang into the rev limiter
