For those wondering it appears that it was an improvement as he ended up drilling the hole for the sensor. Probably the intake air temp sensor I'm guessing?
I would like to see a dyno comparison. There is a good chance the original air box is better due to the ram air. Just like the cold air intakes on cars usually reduce H.P. The topless mod may make more on a dyno until you force air into the ram air. I bet fabbing a bigger snorkel would produce the most power.
Unless your moving over highway speeds I doubt the Ram affect air does anything for you. a car RAM air intake gains most power due to a cooler charge Not the RAM effect. Although the inlet is highly optimized with Porsche‘s help it is restricted thanks to noise rules. Removing those restrictions without messing with the flow is the trick.
@@chrissmith7669 I built my airbox cover with functional scoops and modified the air cleaner cover to direct it right in with a KN filter. (2009 Vrod) it absolutely works cause now my plugs are white even with a Vance Hines tuner. Now I have to get a better tuner! I agree it probably doesn’t work till over 65 mph. I have a video of it on my channel.
I've removed the top, have k&n,and tuner, and right off the bat I could hear the difference, at about 45 50 mph you can hear the air being sucked in on blips of throttle, it's almost annoying...I am going to just mess with the inlet, make it less restrictive.
Same here I did this as well sounds like poo I might need to mod top cover for more air I think stock cover is to baffle the sound not to make a ram air intake
@@buffalopeter2113 well I had to watch it to know what it was dipwad!!! And all u did was not put ur top back on! Not worth making a video in the least bit! Ur the one clearly butt hurt buttercup!
