Dude this video is a goldmine! Wife "totaled" out the 2010 fusion after she over corrected and ran it into a curb and bags deloyed. Bought it back from insurance and got most everything fixed... but wanted to make sure I properly diagnose suspension! Thank you again man
Thank you so much for this vid... very helpful!!!! I have bad wear on the right front tire on inside and outside... sound ODD to me. With this knowledge you provided I can a least run throught these checks... sure wish I had a lift, but an old shade tree mechanic like me makes do with what he has...LOL.. Side note, when my son owned this car he took it to Midas and spent lot of money to correct this issue. Wondering what I have gotten myself into. 🤔

I have a 2010 fusion and before taking it to a shop I'm trying to figure out what broke on my front suspension. I think it's the upper ball joint assembly.
I SUBSCRIBED to your channel immediately and I thank you for this great video because it is comprehensive and a complete examination of the entire front suspension. I have watched many other videos and they are not as informative or well done. I would appreciate your advice on a question about my 2009 ford fusion AWD where I am getting conflicting advice about a front suspension issue. Some mechanic told me my SUBFRAME is rusted and must be replaced which is expensive but the official Ford dealer body shop expert told me that although it is rusted, the subframe is still solid because the four corners of the H shaped frame are still good. My issue relates to the sway bar link on the right side. It is definitely broken where it connects to the wheel but the non Ford mechanic is telling me that to replace it I have to replace that subframe...which confuses me. The two BALL JOINTS are perfect and were recently replaced. So my question is; 1. Does that sway bar link connect to the subframe itself and if so...WHERE ? Or does it attach to some other body part. 2. If the sway bar itself is broken, can that be replaced without replacing the subframe ? Any advice would be appreciated...THANK YOU
Sway bar itself mounts to the suffrage 2 brackets in the center, the end links attach to the strut The links themselves do not attach to the subframe And yes anytime there is holes in the subframe it's a big deal, these rot out very easy honestly
15 Fusion Se 2.5 L How can you tell if strut is bad ? I took severe hit on drivers side wheel and CV axle , lower control arm and the inner tie rod was damaged need replacing . The strut looks fine but some say the strut is likely shot and needs replacing . Took it to this shop yesterday and hopefully start working on it Monday . Some shops sell you on things you don't need . How can I tell ?
You have to create a little pinhole in the Rubber and then fill it full of grease they make a needle tip that you can put into your grease gun you just have to Google it I don't know what it's called and you can fill it with grease and then you have to put away the dab of silicone on the rubber where you put the pin hole
Either you got the wrong size tires on that car or somebody put a different strut assembly on it and it needs to be put back to factory so look inside the door at the tire size and make sure it's the right ones that are on your rims
