We have a 2006 Buick Allure which is the Canadian version of the Buick Lacross and we also have a broken drivers side door handle. I really enjoyed watching your video because you showed in detail how each step was taken. And I know that just making one mistake can cause a problem. I have taken the door apart before so I know what you are doing. I know that there are trolls out there that love to complain. But you did a wonderful job and shared it with Buick owners who will need to do this job. So thanks a lot and now I understand how to do the job!
i just wish we had better camera angles instead of his back the hole i have the same problem he is fixing I took the door apart to me i didn't install anything yet if I didn't take the door apart n watch a different video before this I would have no clue on what im watching for instance when you have to reach your hand in the door to release that orange clip so you can actually release the door handle because it connected with a metal rod to the clip and the clip is connected to the interior door handle if I didn't see that on a different video I would have been lost and probably broke the orange clip and if you know anything about trying to get parts right now its unbelievable hard. My opinion is if you're just going to show your ass while you're doing the work just do the work and get it over with. But if he really wants to help people out he should have been helper that was with him grab the camera and get all in between so they can see what he is actually doing.
@Robert Slackware Yeah, he couldn't get it in frame when he took it off. What breaks is the thin plastic surrounding the two embedded nuts and they slide out. Once you remove the old handle it's obvious, I've tried repairing them with epoxy putty but the handles don't cost that much so I get a new one and pack epoxy putty in around those nuts to reinforce that plastic.
thanks for the video. Sorry I didn't see it first, but already pulled the door panel and accessed all parts. One section I didn't see is the door actuator rod from the new handle. I removed mine at the actuator and assume it will snap back in. Cant believe just how cheap these things are made. Thanks again and you will certainly get better with video editing etc.
he's obviously an hourly employee that is in training. because he takes a break every few minutes and looks at the door to figure out how it comes apart. and does not explain anything.
Never heard of air tools or cordless drills either, that's what I use, a cordless drill with a 1/4" drive locking extension bit. Makes things go much faster. I know, make my own video, right? Thanks for doing it anyway. I'm sure it helped a lot of people.
@@manstersr Would an air tool or cordless drill explained how to replace the handle any better? No clue why you're being rude when this guy is sharing knowledge on how to replace the handle. Nothing better to do? P.S. Yes, I know this is a year old comment I am replying to, but it is so aggravating to read crap like this. To video poster - Don't mind these types of people. No matter what you do, someone has to find a reason to complain.
Had same problem on a similar model, I used crazy glue, worked fine !! Just keep in mind that it will be very hard (may be impossible) to take off later on, in my case I did not care because the car was going to the wreckyard soon anyway.
Thank you kind Sir! If you don't mind me asking, were you in a fire? It looks like your arms are scarred from a bad fire. Thanks for doing this video as it did make it much easier for me to change my handle after watching you do it. God bless
what tools were used to get this job done, i purchased the new handle but I am unsure if I will have the tools needed for example the socket used with the extension
Does anyone know how to get the door open if it won't open from either side??? I cant take the panel off because i cant get the door open. (Rear passenger side)
i called Spitzer's in lorain ohio yesterday - they said they will call me Mon. to get more info - can i still use it & how much do you think they will charge me

But in all honesty I think you're probably going to get a lot better this is probably one of your first videos and you just need a little guidance please don't take these words ass a letdown take them as advance. thank you
Glad that I don’t know what shop he works at because he is not a talker just a slow doer. STOP trying to make videos of what you are working on and not telling people what you are doing. LEAVE VIDEOS ALONE AND JUST WORK ON THE VEHICLES THAT YOU PROBABLY ARE CHARGING BY THE HOUR TO REPAIR BEING THAT YOU ARE SO SLOW...
@@SwiftGeneration Dude, Language! Mechanics aren't used to such profanity. I'm highly offended. If she were my apprentice her uniform would be a thong bikini. But she's probably the owner's daughter so sorry for that comment.
