I bought mine new in 2006. The looks are a little polarizing but I have loved the thing almost 60K miles worth and I still have it. My wife has ridden with me on some great trips. She has been with me >15K miles and it has been comfortable. The maintenance hasn't been bad at all. A good ride does indeed make the world right again. Nice job!
Gloves save hands don’t you know! And rev limiters save valves but these don’t like reving too much so just use that nice torque to make swift progress. Yep we all make mistakes but better to learn from someone else who’s already made them! 😵💫
I bought my 2006 1000DS 10 years ago with less than, 7000Km on the clock. I have done, 11000 Ks on since. So heading for 28000KM. I do my own maintenance except for valve adjustment, which I just can't get my head around. I love it to bits, it's a great bike, and it will be the last road bike I ever buy at 66yrs of age although i do have a 2001 KTM 640 Adventure, if I could get another DS1000 to convert to an adventure bike I would flcik fof the adventure and use a Ducati DS1000 for my off roading adventure. I love the "it's like riding on a couch" it sure it, but it's a damn fast couch!
The S model in black all day long unless you have problems with your left hand as the clutch pull is very stiff. Aftermarket clutch slave cylinders don't help enough. Great bike!
@@porkbunassassin2295 Harleys "V" (60 degree?) , Ducatis "L" (90 degree) , nothing to do with the length of the cylinders...... V twin is a generic term..........😎
