I have drove lifted vans for over fifteen years. And no disrespect to Timberline Vans but any lift that is over three and a half inches on a coil over solid axle is gonna eventually make your Van undriveable because it will get the death wobble sooner or later. Then you haft to worry about hitting any little or big bump on the interstate or back roads and once the death wobble shutter starts you basically almost loose control of your Van. So if your doing 70mph on the interstate and you hit a bump and the death wobble starts the only way to make it stop is to slow down as quick as you can to get to under 40 mph or less. While I was doing 70mph and hit a bump and had the death wobble start and I nearly had a 18 wheeler plow into the back of me while I was trying to slow down in a hurry to regain control of my Van to get the death wobble to stop. After that I said I'm done with coilovers and coilover lift kits. So I began a mission to find a lift kit to make my E-350 Van perform like a true 4x4 that will ride better and take a massive hard hit while driving and not even flinch on the highway. When my Van was plagued with death wobble it was happening to my 2004 E-350 with a 6 inch coll over lift. I tried 3 different kind of lift variations on my E-350 trying to work with the coilover's death wobble. I tried the King Shocks with the OEM Upgrade for the Super Duty Coilover conversion shock kits with the tuning option, to Dual steering stabilizers, and every other option you could think of to try to make the coilover perform how it should to try to get rid of the death wobble. I was using high quality parts in every aspect of the variations of the three builds we tried, with Front axle/differential: Dana 60/3.73:1 gears, open with a Rear axle/differential: Dana 60/3.73:1 gears, limited slip. All in all it was just a huge waste of money since I couldn't trust driving my Van. So I started doing more research cause I didn't want to loose my 4x4 Van and finally found the best way to lift a Van that will perform and ride way better then any Coilover Van would. The solution was getting rid of the coilover's and installing heavy duty Front & rear leaf springs amongst other things. Installed was a 8 inch lift kit with Brake Line Kit suspension tweeks Installed the conversion kit, rear springs Misc Modify F driveshaft (lengthen & rebuild) Front U-Bolts 8 Front U-bolt plates, lower shock mounts Remove factory coil buckets, mounts WARN Premium Hubs BrakeMan Brake upgrade Outer Axle Seals Upper & Lower ball joint Inner Axle Seals Install Inner axle seals. Other upgrades Diablosport tuner . National air ride seats line'X'd Safari Roof rack Fender Flares Cab Lights The rear brakes have been powder coated dark red Dark tint on the windows Rain deflection visors on each window Tow hooks up front a mbrp exhaust Tow bags in the back And a 5 and 7 pin plugs for a trailer connections

Yes leaf springs are durable and safer way. I'm planning to do the same to my Express Cargo.

What is the difference between this lift and the standard 5 1/2" coil spring lift you guys offer? I am wanting to go taller with an 37" tire on my 15 passenger but can't decide on which way to go. Is the only difference between the two kits steering and shock mount related? It does look like the arms are at more of a turned down angle than on the 5 1/2" lifted vans you show here. Looks good tho.

There have been quite a few changes since this was implemented. We have a 6" coil spring lift that might fit 37s with some trimming, if wheel offset isn't too high. Otherwise, we offer a coilover 8" lift similar to this which is more than sufficient, but quite a bit more expensive. We are not currently offering a 6" coilover conversion kit until I redesign some of the bracketetry. Email for further correspondence, sales@timberlinesupply.com

@@Timber_time Thank you I did not notice it was a coilover kit. I do not have a need for that. I thought your kit was 5 1/2" not 6" I have seen a van with a competitors 5 1/2" coil spring kit on 35" tires and it was actually quite impressive looking in person and drove very well. I am sure yours is similar. I suppose you would need an 8" coil spring or coilover to run 37 inch tires with good clearance on these vans.
