Boy, these guys look old, not the way I remember them from around 1970 playing at Christiania. Those were the days. I have now been away from Denmark in almost 40 years so it is quite a shock to see them old and since I write this in 2021, this event took place about 15 years ago. I must say that it was with sadness that I learned that Kim Larsen had passed away, but I have just started to re-discover their music both through old videos and new ones with Gasbox. And Peter Belli....I remember him from the old days where they were Les Revals, in other words, the old days!
"What did Gasolin mean to you?" - To me they made my childhood complete - almost. Because after having pestered my parents for 2 years my father finally promised me (regardless of my mothers opinion) to let me experience thier next concert in the local "Brøndby Hallen" - and then they split up. My small childs world collapsed and never really got fully reconstructed. I never got to experience Gasolin live.
"Hvad betød Gasolin for dig?" - For mig betød det at min barndom blev fuldendt - næsten. For da jeg efter 2 års plagen endelig belvet lovet af min far (uanset hvad mor sagde) at få lov at komme til Gasolin koncert næste gang de spillede i Brøndby Hallen - så gik de i opløsning. Min lille barneverden kollapsede og er aldrig rigtig blevet helt genopbygget. Jeg kom aldrig til at opleve Gasolin live.
