What's up guys, welcome back!
Today we're going to hit you with a pair of 2006 Honda CRF450's that I've been calling "The Twins" here at the shop.
They each received a few key mods while they underwent a light rebuild of sorts. It's something that anyone can do & I hope to encourage all of you to do try!
I wanted to show you guys a few build options and upgrades for your Hondas -one of which is the TX Race Kit, which is basically a Restyle Kit for the older Honda four strokes - it's the only one I'm aware of for these dirt bikes.
As for the second bike, we've got another great way to twist up the OEM body style as well.
Both bikes also received (in addition to a s*it-ton of scrubbing, buffing, and elbow grease) a set of our SM Pro Platinum Wheels, fresh decals, coated clutch & ignition covers & more.
You guys can, and totally should try this at home with your own bikes too. You'll be so proud of what you accomplish!

The alumahyde on a bike is a good idea. I’ve only used it for camo on ARs. Holds up well. Did you do a heat cure?

I have a question for you. I just brought home a 2023 KTM 350sxf and I want to replace the front fender, number plate and the fork guards with white. All sites show plastic up to 2022. Any suggestions?

Hi dude, that is probably because the 23 has a new plastic shape and they aren't quite ready yet. Keep in touch though, because eventually I'll be able to supply them and I just came up with a huge discount on decals for all of my riders. We can even pre-install them first on your plastics. Both look awesome!!! I give the nod to the '06 plastic but hated the '06 front numberplate. I put '08 triples and plate on my '06 but I used Cams Restyle Bracket on my '12 250X with a '06 CRF250R top clamp & '19 CRF250R front end. A '05 CRF250R rear fender fit perfectly. Man that thing looks sweet!

Man that intro song was just about to get fucking filthy. U gonna put a brotha on or nah. Either way I've been in the middle of building out my 06 CRF450x and your videos have been giving me hope man. In the beginning I was just gonna do it to have 1 less broken dirt bike in my garage but now I am about to put those new plastics and one of those crazy bright headlights. For those night rides or eventually making it into a little dual sport to have something to mob back and forth in town. Thanks for all the info on parts and again on showing what can really be done with these machines.

I have an 05. Looked into the TX kit few months ago and they want to sell you everything. Problem is, I already have a new trick seat cover, updated front fender, etc. tried to talk them into just selling the side plates and shrouds, etc, but they don’t do it and the cost for what you get is a bit much. Ended up keeping stock shrouds (these are already a good design in my opinion) and doing the Yost mod to cut the side plates smaller. It’s crazy to me that Polisport makes a restyle kit for 2004 and earlier but not 2005-2008, which was such a popular bike and there are tons of them running around still. Both turned out great!

Sorry brother the X has extremely limited aftermarket options & NO restyle kits as far as I know! We usually fix that for customers with a fresh set of plastics for the X and graphics to help make it look newer & more modern. Hope that helps a bit! -Charles // mXrevival

Are the brackets for the plastics kit pretty gnarly? They look pretty heavy and bulky? I take it they don’t really add anything to the bike other than just re_location for all the plastics hardware.?!?

They are a bit cumbersome but not heavy at all. It's a pretty good trade for the upgraded look! Nothing fits quite as well as stock but they did a great job & the kit even includes a seat.
