Out of New Mexico I'm going to replace both head gaskets on my oldest son's 2006 jeep commander tomorrow morning that I and my wife gave him for all the accomplishments that he has achieved in life as a young man. I watched your video and it definitely will help me to know what's going to take place on this project. Thank you for sharing your experience 😊!
How’d that project go? Someone i know is selling their 06 commander for a good price. 150k miles. It does need a new gasket for one of the heads. Thinking if the vehicle is worth the time or not
@freightcoordination1019 I did replace both head gaskets and had the heads both resurfaced all new gasket kit on top of the engine and a complete toon up and a new electric throttle body installed and it's got plenty of horsepower, and he's getting 22.8 miles per gallon out on the highway, and 16.9 miles per gallon in town.
Before you did this, hope you swapped out the coil pack for #7 to a different location to see if the misfire moved along with it - also check those plugs as there are 2 per cylinder and this engine gets crabby if you use anything but the Champion 570s. Nice video though!
I think I may have a head gasket issue. I also have to replace my exhaust manifold gasket, it almost looks just as easy to remove the head to get to the exhaust manifold with broken bolts
