2006 Mazda 3 1.6 MT POV Test Drive 

I drive the 2004 model. It is a very comfortable, quiet, good looking car. Spacious trunk space, albeit not tall, so it has trouble fitting large objects such as strollers or wheelchairs. Maintenace is cheap, my mechanic loves it because it's very easy to work on. It feels sporty and has a very agressive design for a "family sedan" which i love as a young man. It has great handling during sharp turns. It's what i like to call a "sheep in wolf's clothing". The gear changes are swift despite the heavy flywheel and every passenger i've ever had says something along the lines of "That is a nice Mazda!/It drives very comfortably" and truly, it is probably the best car you can buy in that price range depending on your needs. Everyone loves it. My only complaints are: 1. Big blind spots in the rear and front, making it difficult to park without some kind of parking assistance. It is very difficult to tell the distance between the bumper and a wall which is why i have to leave the driver's seat to personally inspect the distance between the bumper and a curb, for example. I thought it was just because i lack experience but i once had the joy of driving a friend's Golf 4 and that car was so easy to park compared to mine it felt like kid's game. If you're a learner driver like me i recommend you invest in parking assistance before you back into a lamp post like I did. 2. Its suspension is low and hard which makes for an uncomfortable driving experience on roads with many potholes and irregularities. Which is understandable, this being a City oriented car, but even on a flat dirt road i can hear the bottom scape the ground which just sends shivers down my spine, and even small changes in elevation on the road feel like the car just got hit by a rocket. My aunt drives an Opel Meriva and her car drives like a jeep compared to my Mazda although the two cars are similar in height. I've had to on many occasions look at a road and go "Yeah, i won't be able to drive through there" which is is just embarrassing but not so much of a problem as I almost exclusively drive it in the City. 3. Virtually no legroom on the back seats. Looking at it from the outside it looks like a spacious 4 door sedan but that's deceiving because that car is really a corvette. I am 175cm tall and I've pulled my seat so far back in order to operate the pedals comfortably that when I tried sitting in the back, the front seat was basically inbetween my knees. You can not comfortably fit an large adult in the back seats, and if you are taller than me I imagine you can not fit an adult in the back seats at all. The reason for this is, a lot of legroom has been sacrificed to make the trunk deeper. At the end of the day that's not your problem, that's the problem of the person sitting in the back seat. The extra trunk space is perfect if you want to get a bass box. So yeah, this is definitely a young man/girl's car, a perfect compromise between something sporty, comfortable and economic. It can fit your girlfriend by your side, it can fit her 100 shopping bags in the trunk, it can take your aggressive maneuvers without upturning like my friend's Corsa, It can fit your annoying little brother in the back. What more do you really need?

1.6L 4 cylinder engines are my kind of 4 cylinders along with , 1.8, or 2.4. Mostly because of the Humming sound it makes just like an AE86, But higher or lower by difference.

You shouldn't hold a camera and do a test drive, buy a mount for it

If you want reliability, peace of mind motoring and a good family car with a sporty feel then get one of these you won't be dissapointed..

I have a 2008 1.6 (105bhp) takara and I'm very happy with it. Good solid reliable family car, handles well and sticks to the road like glue. Fairly comfortable long distance motorway cruiser not much road noise intefearance I will stick with her until she dies and get a gen2 with more power 😃

Why did you choose to drive on that road where some work is being done? It's all bumpy and shit and due to you holding the camera I cannot tell how much the car handles the bumps cuz it looks like you feel every bump quite a bit.
