i got a 2009 g6 3.5L, that turned out really good! my g6 is black and has a chrome packge so i have chrome lower grille and normal grille and chrome door handles and rims and some other odds and ends, but if it wasnt for that i would defiantly black mine out like that, looks good

Nice car, You should tint the windows 30 or 20 %. It would complete it in my opinion.

You can buy stuff call NiteShades. You can find it at O'Reilly's. I used it on my car, and haven't gotten any tickets. It takes a few coats, just make sure to clean the lights really good.

i have the same exact car, bumper to bumper, and i've been considering doing this for a while

I did my factory wheels on my G8 the same way, except I added a red pinstripe around the edge. Just regular pinstripe from AutoZone. Added a lot more detail to the wheels so they don't blend in with the tire. Just a suggestion.

would’ve been so much less and easier work to pop out the grille and the trim literally held in by 4 pop clips

We just used some paper behind the grill. About 5-6 light coats.

What paint did you use on the calipers? I have the 06 4 door gtp

You should get the spoiler that came on some two door g6s! It would look great, the rear of the car is looking to plain! Looks great though.

It worked real well except he had four new tires put on and they nicked up the outer rim. He will try and fix it up this spring.

Wow. Impressive. It wasn't so much of the emblems that got me, it was the tires and rims. Just a quick question. What kind of paint did you happen to use bc all the paints i found were sprays but unless i wasn't looking hard enough. Im thinking of doing black green and white colors for my g6. White base color with black rims and green calipers.

Not too bad. A few spots got damaged, but it will live through a light car wash as long as you don't get too close.

We used brake clean and a wire brush.

We just used the red the had on the shelf. You can order paint to match your car but is pricey.

there is a glossifier you can add after, im not sure where you get it though

I still have the plastidip on my car, it holds up really good if you apply 5-6 coats. It's been through all types of weather. You can actually power wash it, I am never worried about it peeling etc through a car wash. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is spraying tire cleaner and having it run onto the plastidip, I normally just apply with a cloth. Check out DipYourCar/com on youtube, he does it for a living.

Looks great man! I have an 07 G6 GT that's black and I've been dying to do the wheels with black Plasti-Dip. How many cans do the wheels take? And is the black on the wheels flat or shiny?

I don't think they are a sporst car. But they can be fun!

They are the stock rims that came with the car.

I don't think it will as the plasti dip is a rubber material and very flexible.

How did you prep the calipers prior to painting? Did u sand or just clean off the grime and paint?

Ok. Do they make a clear for it so it can be shiny? It would match my car better if they do.

I think it was Duplicolor cailiper kit paint.

What color caliper paint did you use. Any specific red? Im going to be painting my calipers soon and didnt want to get an off red..

i have one question, if i do 5 coats on my g6 just like your doing, will this chip easily because of the amount of stress the front bumpers usually take?? like rocks, etc??

The GT and GT coupe are different, Two door VS 4 door

The stuff comes off pretty easy. You may want to practice on something else first if your not sure. Mud

grills pop out super easy, did that on my car, but for god sake take off your gm excellence badge and those damn door bumpers, Pontiac ditched it plastic cladding years ago

You need your side view mirrors red to match the body.

You could. Be carfull how many coats. Too dark will cost you $75.00 +

Ive always been hands down Pontiac Dodge man,,I really don't care for the G6--gtp body, not only that it's the 3.6LThe grand prix is were its at they came with the 3800 and if its the GTP it came supercharged,,, The g6 didn't have any options when it comes to performance,Even the G6 GXP wasn't supercharged and still was only 3.6L.The grand prix GXP came with the 5.3L northstar V8,,So as far a im concerned fuck the G6,,, the bonneville and the grand-prix are were it's at!
