I decided to replace the rear Brake Shoes, Brake Pads & Rotors (both sides), and also I had to replace a Rear Right Hub Assembly bearing (My very first attempt at a Hub Assembly replacement.
I decided to record my antics and create a video for your enjoyment. I truly hope that you enjoy this journey of mine, and that it helps even if only in a small way.
Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that both cameras that I was using died at near the end of my repairs. The one thing I was so afraid that didn’t get captured was the joy of the Hub Bearing Falling free of the truck, and I was very fortunate that the batteries last long enough for the moment, and then died. It was if it was meant to be…
I have been up going steady for the past 36 hours no-stop to make this happen, and because of all the hard work, I couldn’t just let the video fall by the wayside because the batteries died 90 % of the way through this adventure. It doesn’t matter what happens along the way, as long as the way is traveled, as it will bring a joy and satisfaction that simply cannot be measured but only by the heart of the one who traveled...
It should be fairly simple to just follow what I did on the right side - in reverse. Thanks for watching, and a happy Memorial Day 2024 to you.
If you like this type of video, please let me know in the comments about a subject you would like to discuss and I will do my best to create a video on that subject, or if you have a video idea for a DIY project, A review of a product or anything else, I will be happy to create that content as well.
Thanks for stopping by, and remember - find someone who needs to laugh, needs to smile, needs to cry, or just simply needs a friend - and make it happen ;).

Thanks. I am getting ready to do more in the front end tomorrow. Goodness. It is a good thing I am learning to do things for myself.... There is no way I could afford to have to pay labor also, 😆 🤣

Nice you fix it before it breaks, but I'm in the camp where nothing gets fixed until it breaks. =) Thanks Steve!!

When I was a kid about 8 years old, my Dad drove our car with a bad axle (and he was a mechanic). Mom said, our car was always the last to get fixed LOL... One night Dad took us all out to 7-eleven for slurpee's, after many times of being warned by our main gas station friend that the axle was going to break, it finally happened... Just as we left the 7-eleven, about 1/2 mile or so up the road the axle broke, and it caused the back of the station wagon to jump a few feet in the air, when it came back down and hit the pavement, it ruptured the gas tank. The rupture caused a spark that ignited the gasoline vapors. The result was the car caught fire, and exploded into flames. Dad told us all to jump, and without hesitation we opened the doors and jumped. My oldest brother jumped and his feet hit the road like ice skates and he slid to a stop. My next to oldest brother jumped also and I believe rolled to a stop. My Younger brother and myself were lying on top of the gas tank, and the fire seemed all around us, but we rolled over the back seat and made our way out of the car. My baby sister, was being help by our Mother, and she was afraid to jump for fear of killing my sister, so she decided to open the door and roll out of the car as it was moving. My Dad said he had a strong feeling that he should stay with the car to steer it safely to the side of the road (even though he thought everyone was out), but little did he realize that Mom got hung on the car door as she rolled out, and was dragged by the car until it stopped. She said when the car came to a stop, she looked beside her, and the steel rim of the wheel was about 2 inches from her leg. If Dad hadn't stayed with the car to steer it, it would have cut Mom and my sister in half. God was with us that day, and I will never forget, and that may also be why I am so safety conscious. ...You just never know when something is going to break, but if you know it is bad - take it as a warning because the break could cost a life. By-standers said It took the fire department 5 minutes to get to the scene and the car was completely gone (burned completely, nothing left but the steel). If I remember correctly, it was very upsetting to loose our slurpee"s :). I guess we were just kids and didn't know our lives were worth more than that slurpee... Also being a Professional truck driver for 20 years also helped with a safety conscious mind as well. Thanks for the comment it is much appreciated. Now I have to get to bed so I can do a trip at 1am. Wow - I have been up since 6am yesterday. I really got to get some sleep. I have peoples lives in my hands in the morning and need to get some rest. 😉
