The bike hadn't been run for about a year. Then when I went to get it going again I couldn't get it started. I tried everything I could think of for several weeks (see list below) and then took it to a good local mechanic. He got it to start and run but it always dies after a couple minutes. Anyhow if you have any ideas for what might be the problem let me know in the comments. Thanks!

List of stuff I've checked/tested:
Compression 60 psi Leak down ~ 12% (lowish but both checked cold before it was running)
Spark at a "wide gapped" plug grounded to motor.
Both OEM & aftermarket CDIs tested. Both generate spark.
Carb cleaned completely down to mid-body gaskets. All passages blown out.
IN/EX valve lash in spec.
Flow from tank to carb to float valve checks good.
Stator changed. Most recent change.
