That 14mm is a pain in the ass. I actually rounded the nut at first so it wouldn't turn at all. I figured out the easiest way was to cut the metal line and put a socket wrench on the nut to get it off easier. Thanks for the video.

There are a ton of videos about installing this power steering hose on youtube. They all show the same concept, but the most difficult part which is attaching the line on the back of the engine is never covered in detail. It'd be nice to show a picture of the actual wrench used to undo the bolt. How did you find the space to do it, what tricks can be applied, etc. Thanks anyway.
@ifitaintbrokenifixedit.alsodid
A (seasoned) line wrench will do. This stupid hose is the direct reason I just spent 8 hours outside in December. Terrible design at that fitting.

Thanks so much! I was worried about doing this because I just put in a new radiator fan and a new auxiliary transmission fluid cooler and the amazon guy showed up with my new power steering hose while I was doing it and I was like crap, do I really have time to do that today? I think I do now! Thanks so much!

Hose is replace but system still leaks I put the end that goes into the rack and pinion back in fully but it still seems to have a leak
@BulletSolano
@BulletSolano 3 года назад
Did you check before the installation of the new line, where the leak is coming from, probably your rack & pinion is bad

Hey man, thanks for the tip on using a ton of force, I thought I was doing something wrong because I was giving it all i had with a smaller wrench. Guess Ill keep trying. So how did you know this line was bad and needed replacing? I am guessing mine is leaking at the top near the pump. It appears to be, or the pump is leaking.
@BulletSolano
@BulletSolano 4 года назад
Hey man, this one was easy to catch the line was leaking right on top of the engine
@danieloshaughnessy8476
@danieloshaughnessy8476 4 года назад
@@BulletSolano I saw the leak, but it was hard to tell where it was coming from, at first I thought it was the pump itself. Long story short the hose was badly cracked but I couldn't tell until after I took it off. Which I ended up having to cut the line underneath and braking the rest of the line off at the nut as my 14mm wrench rounded the nut, and once I broke the line off I was able to get a socket on to take the nut the rest of the way off. Good job on getting this job done while wearing Air Jordans and not making a mess!
