You’ll need 5 quarts only because that’s all you can drain from the total of 8 quarts that Kia manual states is full transmission capacity.

Yes, It was 4 cylinder engine.

Yes, it is automatic transmission.

Sorry for missed it

This transmission has internal filter , the entire transmission has to come out and be separated to access it. It's not just under the cover, but the valve body is.

Kia themselves doesn't recommend changing the filter unless it's planned for reconstruction or major service.
