2007 Pontiac Torrent in Depth Ownership Review 

Looking back at this, it really does make me miss this car. Unfortunately, I had to sell it because we outgrew the Torrent. What cars have you owned that you miss? There's so many!

I bought my 2006 Pontiac Torrent in 2008 with about 33K miles on it. I drive it every day to and from work (20 miles round trip). It now has almost 106K miles. I replaced the front bearings, complete brake system, complete radiator fans, and hoses, the engine valve gasket and had it repainted. Recently the check engine light came on and it tells me that there is an issue with the Emission Control System, which I am planning to work on it soon. I plan on keeping it for another 5 years or more, if possible. I wish mine had the information system that this one has.

I purchased a new 2008 gold base 2WD March 2008. Sold it to my FIL March 2016. Really missed it He unfortunately passed 12/12/23. Left it to my former wife. She informed me yesterday I will be getting my Torrent back. I’m super happy, thank you Lord Jesus!!!!!!!! CB

Thanks for this video! I have. 2008 pontiac torrent with 224,000 miles on it. Currently having trouble with ecm. Replaced coolant temp sensor and that solved the issue for 7 months. Now the issue is back, so back to troubleshooting.

I've got one too, been a family car since it was purchased in 2007. More recently, I've handling more of the repair myself. Just took care of the brakes (right front driver line was clogged, causing the caliper to sieze) and now noticing a transmission leak. The gear shifting has been hard, that's the next task to go beyond the 113K. Thanks for your videos to explain this all.

Wish I could load a picture but I tinted my red taillights and think it should be a factory option. Looks fantastic. Pontiac puts a custom note on the exhaust so it sounds different than the equinox.

How do I change the language to English on the 2007 torrent. I can not read it. It was in English but today it is in another language for some reason

Just got a 2008... track stabilizer light is on, tire pressure low system control light is on. I added air to each tire but the light is still on. Check engine light is on too. Only 110,000 miles on it. Drives really good so far. Nice & comfy. Hope with a couple repairs it'll be very reliable.

My son owns a 2009 Torrent bought it used in 2021 from an old lady that couldn’t afford to fix a leak in the heater core that would fill the car with antifreeze smell and the windows would get covered with it, most shops won’t even look at it because of the difficulties fixing them, he had to remove the dash to get at it, took him a week to fix it.

What do you think of the Aisin transmission put in these? Think they're as reliable as the Aisin transmissions put in Toyotas?

3.4L: Does the 3.4L have the timing cover coolant leaking fault which is as prevalent as the 3.1L for most GM automobiles?

Pontiac torrent good engine bad everything. All wheel drive but only front wheel drive the bevel gear is not connected the rear drive. The instrument cluster is impossible to repair, the ignition key switch is always stuck ,the shifter when stuck just to figure it out what happen is already next to impossible and to fix this will be miracle if you don’t lost your mind first. Cup holder is easy to break than to figure it out what angle are you going to use just to put the cup. The ashtray is more better than not to use it coz if you do , the ashes will over the place and good luck if you don’t burn something . Transmission o rings never exist where ever auto supply you go. Transmission change is equals to transmission replacement . Breaklights sensor will damage your patience or will damage other cars behind you. It breaks even not pressing the breaks and it’s so very bright. Tickets will follow later. Axle is better to fix than buying a new one because you will never get the right one.You need to have your own jack because the jack that is included when you buy this car , is a little bit short and skinny. The aerodynamic windshield protector is blocking the air. You will fill it especially when climbing hills the air want to push you the side down the cliff. Great engineering a really piece of art and heartaches. The engine is good.thanks
