Had similar issue with '10 corolla south africa made, with a code B2289. I think I found the cause of the issue, it has do to with power not getting to the BCM ecu. The battery+ from Am2 fuse No2 fuse is not getting to A6 pin on the bcm E50 connector however I want to be certain that I am on the right pin as I couldn't get the right wiring diagram for the car. I am using a wiring diagram in which the wire color is indicated as white from the fuse to the bcm but on the car the wire color is actually red. Continuity test between the the two points confirmed an open in between. I will get back to the car soon (50km away) and report if there is a progress.
@@drcoolautofixjust talked to the person this morning and he had contacted a key programmer. The key programmer personal worked on the certification ecu, steering lock ecu and ID code box and make a new key and synchronized them together, now according to the person the remote is now working, interior lamps come on when you open the door but there start button doesn't come on and there is no light on the dash. Sometimes people are not trustworthy, they contacted you for their problem and expect you to solve the issues right away and when you asked them to give you sometime to research the issue they ran away from you without having the courtesy to inform you of their decision so that you don't waste your time on their behalf. Well like I mentioned I have an idea of the problem and the key I initially made was turning on the push start button lights both orange and green and light was coming on the dash but the steering lock wasn't unlocking to allow the car to start, until someone decided to disconnect the battery in order to unplug the radiator fan that was running so that it doesn't drain the battery. So he is now getting into an even worse situation than where I was and the person who programmed the key may not have the slightest idea what the problem is since he isn't a diagnostician and more so he is far away. Anyway the one week I spent searching on the internet watching videos like yours and studying wiring diagrams won't go in vain, I actually enjoyed it and learned a lot from that.
Any info on what you guys found? I have the same issue on a smart key 07 Camry I’m attempting to diagnose. the IG2 relay does not want to switch on. Manual power through that turns everything on, but it’s like the energizing side of that relay is not getting power
l solved mine you need to follow few steps. 1.You need 5 thing to be removed from your car which is -smart key box(located on the right side of the dashboard) -ID box (you remove your heater system its between the body and heater system) -steering lock(slightly below your steering) -computer box ( left side under the bonnet) -lastly the car keys 2.take these things to someone who does key programming and get these 5 programmed. 3.fit them back on your car 4.make sure all connections are correctly connected 5.go on you diagnosis port and take a small wire then bridge number 4 and 13 positions on the diagnosis port 6.switch on your your key(do not press the brakes we dont need it to start yet as we want it to finish matching everytbing with the computer box) 7.after switching on you shall notice that your car will be flashing the engine check light continuous. 8.set your stop watch 30 minutes then live it to do everything in 30min 9.after those 30 minutes are gone switch off by pressing the start button without pressing the brakes 10.remove the bridging wire on the diagnosis port 11.press your brakes and start your car as usual you must be done and good to go if you miss any step or for any question call on +263779460090
