Gabriel Flores it sounds great when driven hard, but drones around town at 2k -2500 rpm. Does not drone at 65mph but drones at 40mph in 4th gear which is common for driving in town.
Guys help me out. I have an E92 and want a deeper V8 rumble. Does anyone have any experience with either the S Type or ATAK and which one is better? I do go to work early at 6:30 ish so would ATAK be a little too obnoxious? I might be willing to look the other way in this respect if it’s more what I’m looking for 😉
Borla, I loved the sound of your exhaust on my Stage 3 B5 S4. Sounded full and well rounded without any drone or a tinny/raspy noise. Now I have an E92 M3 and wonder if the Touring would be a good option. I just want slightly more volume than stock, but a fuller V8 tone than a rasp. Would Touring be the right option? Can you also confirm from a flow/performance standpoint there shouldn't be any difference between the 3?

Can anyone compare the BMW M Performance Titanium exhaust to the Borla ATAK? I really like the M Performance exhaust and it's apparently louder than the stock system, but I want it even louder. Will the ATAK be louder than the M Performance system?
Derek Yie the supercharged V-6, I think, [please correct me if I'm wrong] the XKR has the most beautiful sounding exhaust note sine the original E-Type. Just my opinion sir.
Angel Mendez It means that the exhaust is that loud that the frequencies of it are even roaring in the interior / cabin and that droning sound is really annoying when you daily drive that car.
Debating between s type and Atak for my e90 m3. I read somewhere that they both have the same level of noise and that the tone is just different. Is this true? I don’t want to be too obnoxious driving around normally.
Hi. Thank you for your interest in our products! The ATAK is going to be the louder of the two systems. The tone will also be different. The S-Type tends to have a deeper tone while the ATAK has a more race car tone. Our exhaust systems do not drone and are fairly quiet when cruising. Thanks!
Borla Performance Industries thanks for the quick reply! Is the atak much louder than the stype then? Or is there not too much of a noticeable difference. Hard when you can’t hear these in person. I use my m3 as a daily driver so if the atak is reasonable I’ll go that route.
It's difficult to recommend you something because what I may feel is too loud may be perfectly fine with you and I wouldn't want you to buy something under my recommendation and you end up being unhappy with it. I would say the difference is pretty noticeable. I'm not sure how loud you want to go, but we generally recommend the S-Type over the ATAK.
The exhaust systems featured in the video are Axle-Back systems. Unfortunately, the Touring and S-Type sound levels have been discontinued, we now only offer the ATAK.
@@borla I see. I just got S-type exhaust to m3 e92. I mounted it and were very disappointed when hear the noisy hum on about 1800-2000 rpm driving the car. Is this a normal feature of Borla mufflers or just this type of exhaust?
@@YourDoctorDru so what did you end up doing? Have you kept the s-type or did the Attack upgrade? I'm in the same boat but want to make sure there is no drone or I would rather keep the stock exhaust....
drone-free√ √ √ √ ...looking for sport compacts ATAK..and great to see the intake sound considered ... my specialty is psychoacoustics and so I appreciate the subtleties of an effect that substitutes a subtle low sound to erase those squeaky high sounds like valve clatter etc etc
It sounds so beautiful on the m3. I love turbo sounds also, but this really is ear candy! One thing I hate about some exhausts are the farting-like aftersound, it is annoying in my opinion. I love the clean revving on borla's touring the most but love the aggressiveness of s type & atak.
ur mistaking Borla for MagnaFlow. Euro cars have been running Borla for a long time, especially old e30/e36 and VW's 90s VR6 motors sound absolutely the best with a borla. The e9x might sound better with the ones u named, but that's only IF you're willing to spend $6-8k on an exhaust, versus $2k for a Borla. None of them sounds $4-6k better lol I'd rather go Borla and use that money difference on other parts.
