just haven done this just a few thing that come along the way that might help... first take your time. air lines broke on me and a water pipe, there mad of hard plastic and fell to bits, . my manifold was missing the yellow stud guides, when re fitting take time to line up the gaskets through the holes, or it will leak air well suck air in.. if like me you do not have a tourk wrench . then bolts should only be hand tight. do not over do it as I did and snap a blot🤢. if you have put it back together and get a sucking air sound,, do not try to tight the bolts to close the gap between the manifold and the engine block..the bolts should go in easy. if you snap a bolt your in big trouble, so go easy.. I replaced air lines and water pipe with off the shelf pipe from Halfords... very easy job, happy I done it, would encourage you to do your if needed. very basic tools required ,, most importantly, when the manifold is off,, make sure nothing at all drops in the holes,, use the wife's Hoover to clean them out if she's not looking. jokes aside, massive money to fix if anything drops in the engine and you start the car😲..

This isn't a 2008.My 08 has the 4.2 fsi .The gasket and valve cover is made a little bit different.Other than that Good video very imformative.This helped me alot.

Were you having oil leaks into the spark plug ports?

I tried to use the links for the tighten sequence ,they didn't work, any other links for photos to help?

Very helpful video, but I got nervous with you holding bolts, screws, bits, etc. over the filler opening without the cap on. You drop something in there and it would ruin your day!! Thanks for an excellent video.

I'm going to one up your removal of the coil clips. Use a small cotter pin extractor and stick it in the small opening above where you would normally put a screw driver. I've heard of people breaking those clips all the time. This way you pull directly up on the lever.

hi I'm going to change the driver side valve cover gasket... on the gasket there seems to be a extra bit hanging off the end.. dose this need to be taken off and fitted somewhere or will it make sense when I take the cover off and have a place to sit

I have a question to ask you. My vehicle was leaking coolant and it was found to be the intake manifold gasket. My shop did change them and I now get the codes Po171 and PO174. Lean codes. I can very easily see the intake manifold gaskets sticking out on my 07 A8 with the BVJ engine. I feel like my shop is sabotaging my car. Are my gaskets supposed to stick out? I noticed yours are tucked in. I feel like they tightened mines down like crazy. They say the intake manifold is cracked but I only have 104,000 miles and it’s been only to Audi dealer all it’s life.

Did you replace the camshaft back plugs on each side too? Mine was smoking, and I replaced valve cover gaskets twice, later on it turns out to be camshaft plug.

I wish you would of showed putting the spark plug gaskets in! I have a 02 a8 and mine will NOT Go in. its the right part . i bought 2 ! both sets will not fit. there a little too big! Im wishing i would of left the old ones in at this point!

I tried to email someone back re: brand of gaskets used, it would not go through ... I used Victor Reinz, have had good luck with their BMW applications, no leaks after this job, either ... happy wrenching!

Quick question regarding common issues with this motor. I had a 04 Audi s4. Sold it due to the chain guides breaking and eating the motor. Does this newer v8 have the same issues???? It seems that with the 04 s4. It wasn’t if you were gonna have guide issues but rather when. Great video

Sorry, forgot to show how to disconnect and connect Coolant Reservoir Sensor plug, this task should be performed at 25:44 mark of the video ... it is disconnected just like the Air Flow Meter .... clicks right back into place... disconnect sensor before yanking reservoir off the clips... I yanked the reservoir (with the sensor plug attached) clean off the pigtail wires, but found the identical Audi plug off Ebay for $12.00, part# 1K0 973 202, you can find the same plug made by VW, or even aftermarket... either way, you're covered! :D

Yeah not entirely useful, you should show the sequence and how much RTV you used.
