@Jimmy S Just had a Cardone reman rear caliper on a '93 Volvo 940 seize up solid after only 7 months of use. The other 3 are still hanging in there ... for now ...
@Jimmy S, BWD = Broke When Delivered. I call Cardone - Cardon't because the car don't actually get fixed no matter how many of their parts you warranty. But, at least, neither of them are Dorman parts. Whenever I have to go to a parts store, I always ask really loud for whatever part they have that isn't Dorman.
I really hope we go back to good quality parts. Dorman nightmares. So hard for me to explain to my customers about using oem. Thanks Keith for your fast and easy explanations.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
So Dorman asked you not to mention them...lol I don't blame ya for not wanting to checking out the facilities. Make quality parts with quality internals, and their name won't be mentioned (in a negative connotation). I did not expect such a high bias voltage here. Another good tidbit.
@@jeremyanthony9300 the facility may be a warehouse or a offices.... I know they outsource plenty of their parts, if not most, overseas or out of the country. Mexico, China, Taiwan are a few.
When someone wants the cheapest thing/fix/repair, I really loose interest in the job. It takes all of my soul away and crushes it. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Even if for no other reason than someone stumbling along to it and wonder how to test that part rather than priming the cannon. Seriously, thank you for your time and lessons. It is appreciated.
Well Keith, you've proven it again just how good their parts really are..wouldn't even have to say the name anymore, just bring the camera in for a close shot of the name stamped on it. 🤣👍 The proof is in the video..Dorman.! Thanks Keith for sharing 😎
That's pretty bad when a company doesn't want you to mention their name. If it was a company associated with electrical parts they'd be thrilled when you mentioned their name. Besides that, thanks for showing us the steps as to how you got to your conclusion.
if dorman parts weren't defective out of the box or were oem quality we wouldn't trash them! I cant tell you how many cars come in with 5 volt reference problems and I find a dorman SAI check valve on the car, unplug it 5 volt reference is back to normal.
Great video. The status of the aftermarket parts industry is absolutely the worst its been in the 29 years I've been in business. Very discouraging to say the least. The problem with being an independent is the Dealers inventory and delivery times make it great hard to not have to use the aftermarket crap. Not a day goes by that I have trouble getting a quality , part at a fair price delivered on a timely manner no right the first time. Literally. I'm curious if it's the same way with many of your clients.
I've been dealing with the 2004 & 2017 code for years. I've replaced my IMRC at least 6 times and even replaced my Intake Manifold. This video is finally something that makes sense why the problem reoccurs. In your opinion, is the answer to find another manufacturer? Should I buy the Runner Control direct from Mopar??
Dorman has some nerve. What does it matter where they make and test them? The ultimate test is the one they constantly fail seeing as how many new defective parts we see on the regular.
hi everybody , mi dodge caliber sometimes does not start. i checked and the fuel pump does not have energy, that was like that for some weeks... some times it start on , sometimes not. a week ago it just does not start again, i tested and the scanner says P2017, this is the only one code. this fail P2017 could be cut the energy for the fuel pump?
I bet if you took that IMRC motor off and shook it you'd hear rattling... You should tell them you'll go to their facility as a consultant, $3,500/day with travel expenses paid up front and permission to film inspect anything that gets boxed up.
Help me understand how you tested ground integrity? Specifically, what protects the the meter from open current when changed the ground lead to positive? Thank you as usual
Voltmeters have an internal resistance of around 10 MegaOhms, so almost no current flows through the meter itself regardless of polarity of the leads :)
DHOORMUN parts are like suppositories! They taste horrible, they're hard to swallow, they don't won't work, and for all the good they do, they could be shoved up your AS you know I can't post that word!! P.S. I hope you like the way I didn't say DORMAN parts suck, too loud!!
Same thing happen to me on a caliber. Diagnose and replace with a dorman actuator car came back 3 days later with an open potentiometer ..trailblazer steering angle sensor same .put dormans on 2 different ones .one was dead out of the box .the other one came back 3 weeks after. Ford f 150 5.4 cam phaser dorman again. Had to redo the whole job the next . i mean why even bother making this parts. This just wasting ppl time
