In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2008 Dodge Caliber RT. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

So many haters of the Caliber on here. Like most cars, if you take care of them and don't abuse them they will run a long time. Bought my 2008 Caliber SXT new with 8 miles on it. Change the oil every 6000 miles like the manual says and it has been a great car. Not perfect but no car is. Biggest issue with the Caliber is the suspension. Specifically the ball joints. Bad design. Other then that it's been great. The 2.0 Engine is bullet proof! I just passed 202,000 miles today!

I now own a 2007 Dodge Caliber SE, amazing car, mine has 187k on it but drives like new, absolutely love the interior and stereo, lots of space and pretty cool styling, however I'm biased when it comes to wagons.

I have SXT sorts wagon. Lovely cat. I use AMS OIL and and K&N air filter. Not to mention fuel additive. Car performance is smooth. I love my caliber.

You missed the rear dome light by the hatch opening that doubles as a removable flashlight. Waiting to see if you mention the Chillzone™ glove box (glove box that is chilled by air conditioning with room for canned/bottled drinks to serve as a cooler).

not all calibers are equipped with that and it commonly breaks and the chill zone feature could be easily missed. Great points but there’s downsides to them

@LordKevin92 in 2011, they retuned the CVT to keep the engine in its torque band of 2250-2900 RPM, instead of it letting the engine wind up to 3600+ RPM and not doing a single thing.

My 2007 dodge caliber have the lightning bolt come on and I did the gas pedal trick and got it to turn off now when I try and start it with my remote button it won't start and just flashes the tail lights I think it flashlights 6 or 7 times

@LordKevin92 basically, the engine was not tuned correctly to give optimal Low end torque, its not bad when its connected to a Manual Transmission or a TRUE Automatic (like the 4 speeds in the Sebring and Avenger) but when you connect it to the Jatco CVT they use in the Belvidere Triplets (Caliber, Compass, and Patriot) which was also not tuned for optimal torque, and you have a recipe for Disaster.

Ok..the Compass is another version of Jeep Patriot. The design was inspired by the Caliber. They've been around since 2008. Google the Compass, and you'll see the similarities.

im glad they revised the interior for the 2010 model... before then the inside just looked like they used recycled bins.... but hey, at least it was an improvement over the Neon!

The neon was dated and they wanted to replace it. they go after the same demographic with the caliber as they did with the neon. It's not so much a direct replacement for it, but it just replaces the vehicle they're offering to that demographic.

I have to agree with you on this one. I have an '07 SXT as well. I've put way too much money into repairs....tried to trade it, too much negative equity! These cars lose their value FAST! Do your research and save time, money and frustration! I'm definitely getting a Honda next!

Sees this vehicle is an R/T "okay cool!" sees only one exhaust pipe "okay?" turns the engine on "doesn't sound powerful" opens up hood "wtf a 4 cylinder engine with variable valve timing inside an R/T!?" completely disappointed in this vehicle to the fullest extent

but notice that interior is far worst than the 2010 interior. the 2010 car looks the same in the outside, but the interior is a big improvement and the car gets many more standard features for 2010 without a higher price

be careful of the subframes I have one Dodge has offered a 10 year warranty on them as long as the subframes are full of holes from rust they will exchange it for brand new ones but you have to go to a Dodge dealership and give him the last nine numbers of the VIN the 10 years is only good from the year put on the road for that car

I have a 2008 with 110,000 miles on it and in the last 15,000 miles it’s needed about $4k worth of suspension work. My dad drive it before and was very easy on it, I personally drive it like it’s made of glass and yet I’m still replacing suspension parts left and right. Anyone else have this problem?

I wish that the Americans build more cars like this. A gas guzzler is very expensive in Europe. I like US Cars, but the engines are to overpowered. The Dodge Caliber has a good engine. Most people really don't need more than a 2.0 liter engine.

I mean, chrysler tried to fix it and they kinda did; for me, the 2010 caliber has a nice interior and still looks good in some ways, it looked vastly better than the old interior. But again, the reputation was already bad and they couldn’t do nothing but kill its production. I still own my 2010 sxt. A friend of mine has been driving it daily since 2012. No transmission or engine problems. Only common problems such as alternator, AC compressor, and motor mounts. I’d say we’ve been lucky with this caliber and it’s only 129k miles.
