Thanks 👍. Yep, replacing the vent valve took care of the issue on mine. I must have gotten a dud though as the one in the video only lasted about a year then went bad (the valve got stuck) lol. Good thing I got it from the local parts place as it had a lifetime warranty…so far the replacement is holding up fine though. Thanks again and all the best ! Steve

@@StevesDIYs Steve, short story...after successful replacement of the 'Vent Capacity' and traveling over 50 miles to read another error code "P0496 " EVAP System High Purge Flow". Beleive this error code happen when filling up the gas tank. When i turn the car over it ramp and then stalled. The next turn was successful start. BTW i knew had that problem for a little while. Replace the purge valve next to the motor (one pointed our in beginning of this video) drove over 50 miles to finally pass emissions inspection!

@@Skippaway Congrats on getting it all fixed up and getting a pass on the inspection 👍. Getting one to pass after an issue is like a little pat on the back that the repair work was successful (the time spent waiting in line to get into the inspection booth seems to take forever though and I stare at the dash the whole time just praying that the engine light doesn’t come back on at the very last minute, lol !). Yep, I think I’m on my 4th purge valve now for the Escalade as the aftermarket ones don’t seem to last more than a couple of years. The last one got stuck open and basically flooded the engine with fumes from the tank when it was turned off so then it wouldn’t start back up again. GM has the neat feature though that if you press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it when you crank over the engine, it shuts off the injectors so it will then un-flood itself and fire back up. When I have to do that or it just randomly stalls a few minutes after I fire it up, it’s a sure sign the purge valve has gone bad again, lol. Thanks for letting me know how it went and all the best !
