Fairly straight forward but I haven't seen a video on it anywhere on RU-vid. If your hubs don't lock in when you ask them to and you're not a fan of getting out of the truck and manually doing it-- this is the video for you.

Just set up forscan and had the exact dtc's show up on my 08 . I have the 4x4 lock up problem and this will undoubtedly save me a lot of hub disassembly looking in the wrong place. Thanks, I have 140K deleted and forscan says all is well!

3 quick questions. You said the first code then only word the second half of the second code but just to be sure do you remember the actual second code by number? You said they come together. #2 did you use oem parts? Has that code come back at all or has stayed off since the video? Thanks

It's been quite a bit since this vid, I can't remember the codes- I can however tell you that yes, I did use OEM and no, they haven't come back.

What was the part called? I have the same code and mine will work in auto on the hubs but not on lock. Hoping this fixes it.

If you want quick and obtainable, the box stores sell a Doorman 600402, the vacuum control solenoid. It's right up on the right side core support/radiator area, very easy to access. Or you can go to the ford house and ask them for the 4x4 vacuum control solenoid.

The truck would not shift the front axle into locked using the vacuum locker.

Is this the same on an 05 F350?

It "SHOULD" be. I'm hesitant to say yes as I can't see your truck...obviously.

I would have to find a truck that has some, mine does not. Easy way to tell if yours is bad - take the oil cap off and turn it over (flat part down with oil weight written on it). Set the cap on the hole you just created (where it normally goes, but upside down). Start the truck. If the cap flies off, you have excessive blowby/crankcase pressure.
