Merci pour ce super tuto. Les vues sont parfaites. Cela dit, je n'avais pas votre force et je n'ai pas réussi à soulever la boîte de vitesse pour la remettre.
hi from Spain, this weekend i replace my clutch and flyweel, same car Focus 1.8 tdci, with your video as help, so thank you very much your time and effort. i apreciate to much your work. strong man !!!!!
Thank you for not cutting the video on the part where you remove the catalytic converter support bracket. This is the only video that shows me how to do it, thank you very much! very helpful
Bravo et mes félicitations pour votre travail ! Vous allez sauver ma voiture et grâce à vous je n’ai plus « peur » de la faire ! Merci merci 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 Congratulations on your work ! You will save my car and thanks to you I am no longer "afraid" to do it ! Thank you, thank you 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@marcboylen2813 We dropped the rear engine /box mount so that the engine basically swings in the engine bay. We had to actually drop the driveshafts out completly as we couldn;t get it to pivot far enough for them to pop out. 6 speed is heavier than 5 speed. So we used an engine crane over the top with bonnet removed just to make the job easier. Make sure the engine is properly supported when you remove top gearbox mount !
Did my best Kevin-Albert impression on Monday. Got floor tiles, put them under my wife's car and changed oil & filter! I haven't got a balaclava tho unfortunately.
Avoid using bleeding kit if possible. Very easy. Crack open bleed nipple. Slowly pump pedal several times. Get someone to hold pedal down. Close the bleed nipple. Pump pedal again several times. Hold pedal down and crack bleed nipple open. You should be good to go after that.
Nicely done mate, there's a fair bit of stuff to move to get to this one, full mark's for an efficient job, surprised not to see a torque wrench involved though. Best wishes, Stuart, Uk.
When you do the job every day, you know when things are tight enough. & he does use a torque wrench on critical stuff like wheel bolts. It would take forever to look up every torque spec for every bolt & nut on every job.
@@Roy750 Hi mate, I agree, you get a feel for tightness, I was a motor engineer many yeas ago, and people who worked on stuff after me used to complain the bolts were too tight,! ,but nothing I worked on ever fell off, lol. Proof of the pudding or something, this wasn't a criticism aimed at Kevin, I can tell he knows his stuff, and could work on my car anytime, kind regards Stuart, Uk.
@@stuartlockwood9645 my relationship with torque wrenches isn't great. When I was a mechanic I stripped/snapped way more fasteners torquing to "book spec" than I ever did tightening by hand or with an impact gun. Now I'm an Engineer, my torque wrench only comes out once a year to be calibrated at work! But I frequently use torque wrenches at home for motorcycle engine & chassis components just for piece of mind more than anything.
I enjoyed your video. You make it look easy. You look like you keep yourself fit at the gym. Your videos are good quality views, and shows me clearly what's happening. I like that !!. Do you do all your video editing aswell?.
@@WMCS wow!!! You definitely keep yourself busy. Keep up the good work mate, take care. I'll watch another one of your videos with my feet up ,later on.
Hi Kevin hope your well. Which car would you say is the most time consuming start to finish? I've done a handful back in the 80s when alot younger and fitter would run a mile now will get you in lol. Nice new Jack
Andy If it was a toss between a Citroen C5 and Mini R50 supercharged the R50 will win on merit. The coin would land on its round. I take it you’re late 50’s based on the cars you worked on. I was taking my first step towards the spanner back then.
56 mate mk5 cortina x2 had a Datsun 120y van amongst others. Helped a mechanic for years servicing mostly easier back then not as much electrical stuff on them. Enjoy watching you work respect.
Kevin: Bravo! T‘es le meilleur. Je viens de faire l’embrayage sur la mienne , bonne voiture mais tout est compliqué dessus… j‘attends que tu me montres le changement d‘embrayage du Nissan Navara d40 2,5dci…. 😉
What the shit is this car! Never seen more complicated clutch system than this one🥵 you almost dissembled all the car to reach the clutch! 🤕 i can say 2 things: the first "all my respect to you for your patience", the second: "now I'm completely sure I'll never think about buying this car" anyway i have to congratulate you again for the patience and the hard work.
Good job mate! Does the dual mass flywheel and clutch pressure plate need to be set in any particular position in relation to dach other or as long as the screw holes align it's ok?
Hello Kevin, I know it's silly question but I'm curious, when your customer ask you to replace the clutch, then you did it anyway or you did inspection first and decided whether need replacement or not? Thank for your response, May God give you a lot of fortune. .🙏
Not a silly question at all. Once I’m there the clutch is going to get done regardless. They have contracted me to do that. And as a business I have all my formalities beforehand which cover me and my firm.
Where can I find the hydraulic line bung/stopper/cap that you use please? Thanks for a great vid! Do you rate the LUK kit or was it a customer request? Worth spending the extra for Valeo? Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Kevin, congratulations on a great video. I have a 2007 c-max with the same engine, and now that I've seen your video I want to try my hand at replacing the flywheel and clutch. In my case the clutch is worse, now the pedal works only the last 3 cm of travel .... do you know where I can find the tightening torques? thank you
@@WMCS Thank you. your video will surely help me a lot ... soon I will order the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, oil seal kit and I will try to imitate you. thank you and keep it up that you are a myth
Hi kev I am soon to do the clutch on my brother 06 focus 2.0 tdci would this video be smiler on 06 or is it different. the ball joint bolt it a.nut what is the size please. Keep up the good work all hail the clutch king Cheers Tom 👍🤙
I personally would go for sachs in this instance. As it’s a rigid pressure plate and can handle more torque. But for everyday driving. LUK is very good.
@@WMCS I want to ask you one thing to install the Ford clutch plate, it is not necessary to use the prisoner centering device so as not to damage the plate.
@@WMCS Great work BTW mate. I had one of these but got rid when I think the DMF was going. When idling with clutch out the car would rock a bit. I think was DMF ?
@@WMCS I was sent a link, & the fact that you round off every nut with the power wrench & refitted the flywheel not doing the bolts in star sequence was highlighted.
