i managed to get almost 180km/h with my 2. it is 1359cc and 86 hp. I got it from swiscerland from a friend. It is a small car, small engine car, but with aggressive stance. It always pulls you in seat a but. It is fun to drive. Small crazy engine and crazy car. it is a lot of fun to drive it in city narrow streets.
My first car. Such a small yet energetic little guy. One of the best choices for a city ride. Only negative is the car itself is extremely lightweight, making it unpleasant when turning, which is why it accelerates so damn fast! Going over 160 it feels like you will fly out the road though...
What a great looking car - I love the ‘2.’ Where I come from we only received the four door, the two door looks even better! Top speed, though fun, is kind of irrelevant as it’s more a city car, but thank you for winding it up…
I've done custom struts to solve that and i've got best in both city and highway with 16 inch wheels, which is amazing. Rear shock absorbers are B4 from fiesta for now. Take the struts and let a professional change the oil inside and refill with nitrogen, you'll love the car and you will realize that in those years you were running on SPRINGS and not on properly functioning struts (that was my case at only 80k km
I have the same but as right hand drive, a really fun car to drive in my opinion [as an adolescent]. I was thinking about straight piping it, you guys think i should?
How did you find the clutch and gearbox on this one? I have a Mazda 2, and it's sometimes difficult to change from 1st to 2nd gear smoothly. I find it much easier in other cars.
It's the dogbone torque mount. It's soft and the 1st 2nd upshift requires training to do it correctly but it hasn't any mechanical problem. You can buy an AWR dogbone mount for 100-120 usd and it solves your problem. Make sure to buy the new 62 durometer version.
My problem is changing from 4th to 5th >3000 rpm. Changed trans fluid with synthetic and lubed under the bonnet all the gear linkages still having problems. Mine is a 2009 1.5 Sport
Very important questions: I Have this car with this engine, what I dont like is very sensitive throttle. When I just press gas pedal just a little bit, the RPM goes immidietly to 2500 RPM . Is it same on car You tested?
@@fallaitpasmeconnaitre5577 I just hate reverse because it needs so much control from your feet to do it smoothly. Do you mean in first gear? Yes you have to press very carefully the throttle. And the other problem is that the rpm also drop very quickly in first gear so when you go to second initially the shift it's a bit abrupt. When you learn how to time the clutch and ease in the shift is fine.
I know this is an old comment, but was it easy to get used to? I have driven very few cars and what I don't like is how hard it is to use less than 2000RPM when setting off (to avoid ruining the clutch and wasting fuel)
my dad owns nearly identical, sadly legal age for driver license is 17, and then 18 to finish it, i hope you will enjoy your car soon and use it for the greater good
