2008 Mitsubishi Pajero (BK/NS, NT, NW, NX) Review, In Depth Tour, and Test drive
The 4th and last generation Mitsubishi Pajero, also called the Montero, or Shogun is the final iteration of the iconic Pajero nameplate which launched all the way back in 1982. While this BK body is supposedly a completely new design, the materials, design, as well as driving characteristics mimics that of the 3rd generation CK/NM/NP Pajero.
It was released in 2006 in Japan as the NS Pajero, and later on facelifted in 2009 as the NT with newer Euro V compliant engines, in 2012 as the NW with improved body and suspension, and finally as the NX in 2015 with revised front section, LED DRLs beside fog lamps, slightly revised interior + added sound insulation material. In The Philippines, we know this as the BK Pajero.
Just like its predecessor, the 3rd generation Pajero it was classified as a mid sized SUV in older generations, and was later reclassified as a full sized SUV, supposedly rivaling the full sized Land Cruiser such as the LC80, LC100, and LC200, but in reality, still has roughly the same dimensions as most mid sized SUVs.
Unfortunately, the Pajero name will be discontinued this year (2021) as sales of it is already being cannibalized by its baby brother, the Montero Sport which has way better tech, and far more modern design.
