I have a ‘09 G8 V6 that I bought back in 2010 when my son was a year old. I live where we can have some heavy winters and I needed a daily driver mom car, but I refused to sacrifice my style. It just barely hit 91k miles. I love the G8 so much that I picked up an ‘08 GT 6.0L this year for $12k with only 108k. It’s bone stock, but I’m so excited to get it all worked up. Both of them are bright red on black. The V6 is my daily back and forth to work and my winter driver, and my GT is my weekend fun grocery getter momma four door vette!
Looks like mine haha, just need to get mine tinted and get the same headlights and taillights as this one 😂. I love these cars, literally 4 door Camaros. You can go to the grocery store and get all you need while ripping it on the way back. Tons of modding potential but still has the rare factor as opposed to a Camaro. I bought mine a couple weeks ago with 80k miles for $20k and a ton of mods on it, favorite car to date. Nice review brotha!
Excellent review Cory. We have a maverick silver metallic '09 GT that I picked up Memorial Day weekend in 2021. It only had 47K on it from the original owner. The gentleman I bought it from originally owned all 4 generations of the Trans Am plus this beauty. He sold the other four and was keeping this one as a museum piece. LOL. It is a true time capsule. The only modification he had done was a drop in K&N air filter. Since I bought it for my wife, and it is her daily, I have added the VCM OTR ram air intake, a tune, Borla catback exhaust, and a few cosmetic upgrades to the engine bay. It is a sleeper grocery getter for sure. I don't know if she's faster at spending money at the store or going to and from back to our house. I seldom ever drive it unless we are together because it truly is her car believe it or not. One night she "let" me drive it to work, and I was out by the airport. I was probably doing 70 when I decided to floor it. The tires literally chirped, and when I looked down I was doing 100 even. I let off and slowed down. I've been driving sports cars all of my life, but I'm scared to really get into it. It handles very well, but I just don't drive it enough to know its limitations. If it were my daily, then it'd be a different story. The gentleman warned me that it'll get sideways on you if you're not careful. Wise man.
@@CorysCarReview I'd love to send you some pictures. My wife would be flattered. She calls it her hot rod. She drives it very conservatively though. After I brought it home and she had a couple of days to drive it to work she told me that this car is quick. LOL.
@@CorysCarReview Also the reason I bought it was because her last car was an '08 G6 GT. We test drove a GT when we took the G6 in for minor warranty or a recall etc. We both always wanted this car. Now our daughter who just went off to college drives the G6.
Awesome review cory! I also see you got a pretty good g8 for a review! Thanks for going out your way to make a great explanation on the holden! Also wanted to say you should check out the g8 firehawk for your next g8 review. Thanks again!
@@CorysCarReview Yes. I didn't know about the Firehawk version until after we got our GT. Trans Am also has a Firehawk. A company named SLP did the G8 version. I haven't researched the T/A version. It is super charged in the G8 configuration.
Unfortunately Holden is no more, The Australian Government stupidly gave $2 Billion (AUD) of tax payers money to GM the parent company in the U.S after saying it would keep the plants open and keep producing cars… Then less than 2 years later backed flipped and shut down both plants that had almost 3,000 employees… A lot of them worked their entire careers at the plants and were 2nd or even 3rd generation family plant workers who believed in the product and loved what they did… It was handled so poorly by GM a lot of dedicated Holden dealerships lost everything while others tried to switch to other car makers… If you get your hands on a Pontiac GTO (04-06) or the G8 model (08-09) hold onto them… They will NEVER be built the same again…
@@CorysCarReview I’m sure you are aware it’s based off the Aussie Holden Monaro that was was first built in 1968-1971 and the 2nd gen 1971-1977 and 3rd and last gen 2002-2005 and was named after the Monaro region within the state of New South Wales… They are just a couple of beasts out of the Holden brand that Australia tried on so many occasions to have exported but were told not good enough not fast enough, to damn ugly and just won’t sell… GM did no marketing with either the Pontiac GTO (04-06) or G8 (08-09)… It’s only been through car enthusiast like Cory, Doug and others on You Tube and word of mouth… I’m excited for you and you won’t be disappointed… When you do finally get one let me know what your first words were when you put your foot down…
O definitely! I remembered in high school a friend of mine's dad bought an 04 GTO new. I was like what is this grandma car lol. It had the 6spd. Then I drove it and smoked the tires through 3rd gear and was like HELL YEAH!
Hi I am Ashlynn Coleman and McKenzie the daughters of zack Coleman he has been working with you at the rail road I was asking if you could review a early 90 ford bronco plz And thank you have a good day
