3 more months and it will be 3yrs since I installed this kit on my daily driven 09 GTS......40k+ miles later and not even a hiccup! Not even when we hit single digit temps here in NY. Couldn't be happier with it!
Kevin I own a gts and am looking to do this to my car where in ny did you get the work done i dont know of any machine shops that would do the install and i dont trust any of the mechanics where i live I live in the north bronx lower westchester county
they have this turbo tuned for daily drivers your not getting 20+psi out of this turbo this is why it works well with this car. if your looking for a full race turbo this is not for you.....i would be more concerned about the transmission blowing rather than the engine lol
LOL so many people confuse the regular lancers with the evos , i drive a 2004 lancer ralliart and i still get , " is a that evo bro " im like nooo i wish
So many people say why not just get this and that .. When people look at cars that most people write off and put dedication into the car that's a car enthusiast . I'm pretty when the corrolla 86 came out everyone was saying don't bother this and that and that can be said to plenty of cars
i agree and its nice to see people out there that put time in effort in specific cars rather then companies top performance cars, anyone can buy an evo but building a car to its peak potential makes driving it much more satisfying

I just got a lancer, its not a ralliart or evo but the car its self is built amazingly. I got the 5 speed manual and id love to drive her around all day long
Just wanted to point out because several people asked. The only turbo that I've seen rrm sell is for the 2.4L gts. I have a 2011gts and can believe it can keep up with a STOCK Evo with a few mods. It's not about hp it's about torque and yes awd does absorb hp anyways.
It is purely entertaining to read some of these comments. People really take this comparison to heart. Any of you who track cars know the value of AWD, however MANY people have Lancers, I personally see more Lancers than Evo's on the street. RRM is a good resource for THOSE people. Overall this car was a blast to drive, my only gripe was WRTV didnt do this at the track! Would have been way more fun and informative...but thats all they had so hope you all enjoyed it for what it was.
Pharez Knights where do you people get this info? evos are a different chassis. Im not saying it cant be done but its not a matter of bolting in parts.
not really different? a simple 5 minute google search will show you the type of work needed to convert the rear end to even a basic awd configuration using harvested parts from ralliarts or evoX, that's without the tunnel for the drive shaft. Yes the front is very similar but there is a reason non evos have a chassis identifier 4or5cya and evox have 4cza.
The chassis from a normal lancer there tweak the chassis like for weight balance to go around curves I don't really see a different when working on them
You go out and buy a regular lancer (ES,SE,GT,GSR etc.) and then buy the proper turbo kit for your lancer from Road Race Motorsports. You can either install it yourself if you're mechanically-savvy or pay a mechanic about 1K for the install.
+Maki Zarco Exactly! As a Lancer GTS owner I think it's incredible! Most here are Mitsubishi owners who just loves Mitsubishi period. Why don't we leave it at that? Its like the 3sgte and ST205 engine swap for Celica/MR2, it's your car do what you want, bottom line lets shut up and drive!!
Evo x 30k to 40k Lancer gts where i live 5k to 9k Plus 5k for the turbo lets say 14k Evo x 291 hp AWD Gts 270 hp FWD Gts is lighter then evo so in a roll lancer is faster then the evo 14k for a 270hp lancer Vs 35k for a stock evo x I get the lancer and still have 25k more for upgrades like AWD and another 400hp
devin Espinoza awd isn't an option on the non evo base. it is however cheaper, band for buck but more so because evos are overpriced. I have a ralliart lancer and factory evo performance is only 1500 bucks away. In austalia it was 40-50k for a evo x and my ralliart was 25k. MY13 comparison

I was thinking about getting a EVO X (GSR) but now this video makes me wanna just turbo my 2010 Lancer and keep it (for my import car) because I still want the 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake
@neh4pres I don't forget what transmission the Ralliart (which is one word, btw) has. I drive one. One which cost me less than the combined cost of a Lancer GTS and this kit, I might add. You seem to not actually know what transmission it has, though. It's a dual-clutch transmission. Not actually a manual or an automatic. It's both. An "auto with paddle shifters" is a description of the CVT GTS. As for the Ralliart, there is far more that can be done to it than just upping the boost.
@yakovgolyadkin ..... you forget that the rally art is not manual.. it is auto with paddle shifters.. and the turbo does not max out the engine.. for one they dont use a boost controler to crank the pressure up.. which is what you would do with the ralli art
@MrMecrob1 I agree its by far one of the best-looking car right now. and yeah if you lived with snow fwd would be helpful. but it all comes down to different strokes for different folks
The Evo stands out with the factory wide body that's what the regular lancer lacks. The front fenders can be swapped but the rear quarters would need serious body work/paint that's what kills it for me. The only lancer I'm getting is the Sportback GTS no confusion there.
@LiLTMac123 the Ralliart has AWD system from the evo IX that have a full LSD,center and rear differential. and the compression ratio is 9.0 which the 4b11 is a strong engine that can take high boost.
Aside all the talk about whats better. This car is awsome. I loved it. Its got a nice sounding turbo on it. And all the carbon fiber makes it a sexy beast
the only thing is it isn't all wheel drive but i like it (i live in a place where it rains almost everyday). who does the installation? i have an evo x and my bro has a gts..i wanna buy him a turbo kit..
yea I rather stick to my Evo x since it already has the recaro, brembo and enkei. with all that money you put into a ralliart, it will cost more then a Evo anyway. all your trying to do is either meet or exceed the evo. I say get the Evo and exceed from there
You can't exceed from there since you put 10 grand extra into buying the evo. Buy the Lancer for 6, put 5 in it, and use the other 5 to blow the evo away! You get way more street cred when you're the one doing the mods bro.
it's still fwd though, right ? i think awd wasn't offered untill 2011 or 2012, flash/tune a ralliart and you have a good chance against EVO's, just because of the twin clutch, excluding MR's of course.
I thought people want to mod a lancer because: 1. They like the way Lancer/evo looks and 2. They want to do roll racing. Which someone on a forum says AWD cars are not good on rolling drag race. Not sure if it's true but I like to believe so.
@wtf000000000000 a few months ago I would have totally agreed but truth is with AWD you still have understeer issues. But I don't plan on racing around a track. My solution for torque steer(which I think is what you meant to say) was figuring out the GTS is actually faster if you shift into 2nd and 3rd at 5000 instead of letting the tach get near redline( because above 5000 you WILL loose traction in 1st and 2nd), once your in 3rd torque steer is a non-issue. Now if they only a made RWD lancer
@yakovgolyadkin The kit adds 70 HP, but this car has more than just a turbo kit. It has an exhaust, ported intake, etc. The ralliart is heavier and not to mention it's not a stick and the insurance is higher. Dont get me wrong, the ralliart is a good car, it'd rather have the reliability of stock turbo, but this car is unique nonetheless.
@eyedirector haha, i have the same problem too. but the thing is the evo x, sti, and g37 x [correct me if i'm wrong] are awd. and the 370z is rwd. i guess if you plan to drift the 370z for sure. but other than that. they are all really good.
Once you are 20 it's cheaper. I've had my license 3 years now, paying only 220 a month with full coverage and everything. Just bought a brand new Lancer not even 2 weeks ago.
Quite true. In the grand scheme of things, the only thing that would make it really worth it would be a drivetrain swap. Not sure how realistic that would be, considering this isn't forza, but if they could make a RWD kit, then it could well be worth it. However, the roadrace turbo lancer does have their own custom LSD, so it's not terrible for a fwd car.

You are correct, they have done a little work on my GT-R and I get alot of aftermarket parts from them. These comments are hilarious! some good points being made here but lets be honest the uneducated nonsense is the most entertaining!
got my 2012 evo x when i was 23 im no rich kid either I work hard and play harder, in total i pay 550 with full coverage and full coverage on aftermarket parts this is my second evo x i crashed the first one after some track racing. If you really want one you will work for it. your already doing better than me my first car was a 94 honda del sol
@wgshooter If you are talking new cars you're correct, but i bought a used 08 lancer es for $9500+4000=$13500. I guess i never specified new, or used. 08 isn't brand new, but is pretty new for a car in that price range. In that price range it'd be hard to find a car that new that amount of power with the amount of stability the lancer has. Besides that i like the look of the lancer way over any cars comparable to it. Fwd isn't my fav :(, but it does better then rwd in the snow where i live.
It can be done, however you NEED to do a quad CVT cooler mounted in front of your radiator with a booster pump. You must have the tune, and you will ahve to change your drive habits
i'm no expert but when he said they've changed the turbo and now have 100 hp extra surely you should be able to get another 100 bhp form an Evo with just exhaust, induction kit, cams & retune ???? if i was changing the turbo i'd be wanting loads more power than 100 !
@nephilymbass1 is about traction, FF tend to understeer alot and loses tractions at low speed, so there is no way you could put all those torque down in 1st and 2nd gear....
