If any new players are looking at this and thinking about picking the game up; First off I highly recommend. Haters are gonna say it’s the buggiest game on the market but I just haven’t seen that side of it, maybe it’s because I play on a slightly modded hardcore server but it runs extremely well - better than I thought. Second, walk into it expecting to go through a whole new “Dark Souls” learning curve and if you’ve never been through something like a souls game just steel yourself for an unforgiving challenge. You’re going to starve, you’re going to dehydrate, you’re going to get lost, you’re gonna lose your gear, you’re gonna die. Simply the nature of the beast and unfortunately before you can properly prevent a mistake, you will have to make it, die and then learn from it. First time I got some actual gear and food to survive, I skinned a chicken, shortly after I took a sip from my water bottle with bloody hands - got cholera. The hospital was picked clean of pills. Died shortly after. Never recovered my shit. First time I ever made it inland to get the REAL loot, I got scratched by a zombie.. no biggie though because I had rags - non-disinfected rags. Bam, got a wound infection. High fever and blurry vision with constant water loss, not a hospital for literally kilometers. Ended up using the one chambered round in my handgun to end the run there. Bring your perseverance because this game is all about learning from your mistakes, but I love the challenge and it’s a hell of a vibe when you’re playing, alone in the quiet just listening to the howling wind in a hollow world, it’s wicked and can get your heart to race when you get yourself into some trouble. Excllent vid man, but you missed Chlorine tabs, which have the same effect as disinfecting the bottle and makes the contents safe so even if youre not near a well the water in them can still be drunk!

Pick up something heavy and at the same time hold the left trigger, when you've done it correctly you'll carry the item differently and travel twice as fast.

Tip: Bears and wolves can't follow you into water.

i have a good tip for you, the best item in the game: multivitamins. people ignore these, but when consumed and the pill icon appears, you are resistant to the main 3 viruses. you can drink from rivers, eat/drink with blood on your hands, withstand the rain, eat raw meat etc. and be completely free of risk of infection!!

You can eat most of a fruit/vegetable and still cut out the seeds from the last bite. This works on cooked vegetables as well.

Rav you forgot the number one tip Aviator Glasses automatically make you more badass then everyone else

If you're standing next to a fire to dry out, remove your clothes and drop them next to you. They will dry much faster. Standing by a fire until a + appears next to your temp will make you more resilient to the cold. If you roll your car, a wrench (not the adj one) will right it again (not tested this myself yet). Instead of carrying 10 blades, carry 1 and a sharpening stone. Putting a mag in your hand and holding R will reload it providing you have the right ammo in your inventory.

When you have a year and a half experience but still learn things

One of my favorite things I found out, climb on a car ruin (the ones you find randomly around) and you can kill zombies on top of it's hood but they can't hit you. Just don't fall off!

Tips: 1) if your holding down a building when someone is trying to kill you place a glow stick or light on the bottom of the stairs so when they are about to push you, you can see they’re shadow coming up. 2) if someone is about to come kill you, do the laying down emote and pretend your dead. It will look like your dead. (Works better when there’s dead zombies by you or other dead players) 3) if your running into a gun fight and have a sniper or extra gun on you, drop it into a bush or somewhere, where you will remember. That way if you die in the fight you can run back to the extra gun. Pointless to fight with multiple guns when only using one. (Works best when your close to a spawn point)

if ur in pvp with someone and u know hes cut. Dont push him eventually he'll have to bandage and as soon as u hear the bandage noise? PUSH him immediately. Until u hear that noise though wait and be ready cuz he has no choice now but to bandage or rush u

You can walk/run half-sideways with W+A / W+D and use freelook to look directly behind you. That way you can see when a zombie following you is attacking you, and if you run right as the zombie is attacking, they will not hit you. You could theoretically run from them indefinitely if you didn't die of hunger, thirst or of the cold :)

I've filled water bottles with gasoline, poured it into a car, filled up with water again and drunk it. I've never disinfected a water bottle. Just empty and refill with clean water. And I have never gotten sick. If it's just luck idk, but then I'm the luckiest guy in the world 😂

6:03 The biggest fish I ever caught IRL, was when I showed up with zero bait, lol. I used a small piece of plastic litter, and caught the tiniest fish. Then I used that to caught a medium sized flounder. Then I used that to catch the biggest 2 catfish I've ever seen in my life. This was over 40 years ago when I was 14 though, so I have no idea how much anything weighed.

3:13 this is no longer a good idea, as if you just let it bleed you will now get wound infections. This can be prevented by bandaging the cut with a disinfected bandage, but you will quickly end up with no bandages. *Bandages can be disinfected with alcoholic tincture and iodine tincture*

First Tip : Don't install DayZ on console 😂😂

Game is great on console, there's no build guide you have to just know the recipe like one hour one life. If there was journal's that spawned with advice or plastic cards that spawned on book shelfs or in dead survivor bodies (not players, "random dead surviver") these plastic cards have tips pertaining to topics, fire, water, cooking, food and water management; inside baseball caps, beanies, any hat type. Each hat can have pockets sown into it, military helmet get an external pocket for smokes, survival cards, matches, small items, ghillie masking. Pockets can be added but inside the hats the space is limited to card type, 1 box matches, pocket knifes-small type, tiny 1 blade knife. Spawning of small stone could be more frequent, when in the outdoors there are stones in fields, maybe a variety oh stone amd some just crumble into powder which can be smelled with a smelter out of a barrel to make iron, copper, gold bars. Gold to repair nvgs, obsidian. Longer nights and days with reduced food burn.. it feels like day slips away half an hour to early.. makes for tense moments, life's can be short existence... so idk. Dayz could get better and better if devs keep updating it.. if engine that runs day z can handle it. Not a clue how much a game can handle for mechanics, assets, and all that before it breaks. Far cry 3 showed limits of objects per map chunk so you had to build a large city on 4 chunk meeting to maximize object count.. but that was years ago. Developers probably have way more freedom creating. More detail, forest and country side updates is what I hope for. Random power station kicking on and power light up cities in rolling blackout would be cool, which could aggro all the zombies in the area. More zombies in forest but just a few randomly.. or horde walking straight.. more like 28 days later. Day dream about how wild day z could get.. I can do this all day. Edit: battlefield 3 had destructible buildings, smaller buildings walls collapsed and rubble damaged players, still in game only many buildings in game like on siege of Shanghai won't collapse.. main tower animation for other buildings. If you could get c4 or dynamite in day z to collapse towers into a base wall and build with concrete rubble, dozer that is a map editor.. diggers, military bridges. Dayz Squads Mountain Man There's beacons inland the further you go, players on servers can chose the map chunk that generates further inland where no players are. A.i. that can spawn enemies like giant boars, bears, packs of wolf's, deer.. reindeer migration, elk.. Left for dead zombies... Best zombies. The danger from a.i. bandits like mgs 3 a.i. and environment could help players band together. Dragons and tanks, the road.. Zombie animals, red dead online. Bears where like fallout bears.. Custom servers with easy to understand difficulty rating, each server diffrent... community can vote on entire server chunk to be blended together for continent.. mmo phase. Of the serverbunch. . Space flight. Moon. Mars.. joke. Edit: need more small game like rabbts, squirls, birds, mountain lions,wolf's, fox, pheasant, cordage from grass in fields or tree roots with rocks, which can spawn around rivers and rock piles near rivers. Along em there's always sharp rocks. More shrubs, spreading shrubs. Certain food like rabbit eat doesn't give fat calories which could be a small sliver of health along side the heart. Vitamin c from none poisonous trees, options for more poisons plants and mushrooms. 3 long sticks, 8 long sticks and rope makes a smoker, place meat and veggies on smoker, add canvas, tarp or animal pelt to smoke meat faster which is good for 7 days. Fish provides oil. Stones can be ground down with flat rocks next to rivers to make knifes amd axes. Cordage cloths from plant's, pelts can be tanned with animalparts and water (kinda dark, sry), log from a tree that has no bark could be used with a flat stone to remove fat and then place in animal parts brine in large clay pot depending on game size.. scrap off fur. Use log to make buckskin. Snakes, mountain elephants.. More ready access to vehicles like books that can guide players through restore but thier rare or at library sometimes. Farming book, medical aid and cards which improve health item effectiveness. Character sheet that you can pick stats like morrwind... so more agility and lessstrength.. willpower to resist passing out. Random thought, Fallen trees make bugs players can eat, mark beetles,grasshoppers in the morning amd dew on grass. Animals feed on morning cycles and rest in grass beds sometimes. Hunt, chicken coups.. barbe wire and logs/sticks makes wire fence to pen farm animals. Rope a cow or two and ranch. Grass and scythe make bundle dry in 3 days. Spiders, scorpions, river bugs, dragon flies, butter flies, and collector trays. Building options beyond square like in game building as bud option if terrain is flat.. let players make cities. Edit. Honey is antibacterial, garlic as well iirc. Black pepper can stop bleeding but is risky because of infection. Hair can also help to bandage a would but you have to keep it clean.. I wouldn't suggest this in real world but in game being able to cut hair with sharp rock to press into wounds would be cool if it was possible but risk of infection if not sanitized. Fire and any metal tool to cautorize would, also wouldn't do that. Ouch, super infection maybe. Applying pressure to wound option and being able to move to help stop blood loss would be excellent. Rivers could produce glass bottle which could spawn on ground in shallow water by the shoreline of large bodies 9f water in piles of 10 sometimes more depending on the rng. Sometimes you find a few whiskey bottles, bottles from a couple cases, if ground decoration assets could be picked up even rivers pebbles or mud if paint texture was considers either or. Grass could be moss. Even leafs could be tinder or combustible but make darker smoke if still green. Like burning green tress or busses you make more smoke while dry stuff is more clear. Super harsh storms with pelting rain and tornados, hail stones that do minor damage with knockout. Coast could have stronger winds to push against players walking for faster pace, less Stat drain, and currents in rivers and ocean.. that are reasonable, and not crazy! Would devs take suggestions? It's thier game...still fun to think of mechanics Edit: wildlife must be rare, maybe a chicken once a day.

lightin a fire in a house is the best decoy one can have. Many geared players will actually go for houses with smokin chimneys slowin down to peek through the windows which gives you free loot if youre sittin a couple hundred m out with a mosin

If your sick from human meat and have the giggles you can get rid of it by eating multivitamins and tetracycline at the same time. Takes a couple but works.

Well I've just redownloaded and its still the same piece of crap I remember last time I played. Houses empty and scarce, no food at all near the boats, no fruit under the trees, rains 24 7, not one piece of military gear in them green cargos. And I'm not over exgerrating either

If starting a new life make sure to keep an eye out for pumpkin patches. Find a knife and harvest as many as you can take. Now run to a big town baby!

Ruined Heat packs can also be added to cooking pots with water in them, boil the water and you can reuse the heat packs. Dismantle your gas stove/cooking pot/fuel can after use, as server crashes and restarts will 99% of the time delete the contents.

Oh hey, they changed the ump45 animation to include the h&k slap. Your character just pulled back the charging handle once before they changed it. Thats amazing. Also, the reload of the ump is slightly faster than the mp5, because the character doesn't regrab the mag after it is released. You just pull it out in one motion.

Tip- shoot bears in the neck or just below the shoulders, bears take reduced damage to the head (same as real life)

About finding water in bottles and canteens, DO NOT spill it if you have no other option of calming your thirst (such as decent supply of sodas or other canteen/bottle). It's better to risk getting cholera then dying for sure because of dehydration.

Just two pointers. Firstly and it's just a nitpicking, it's not a hunting shop, but rather groceries as that's what's written over the entrance. Secondly, I always empty the water containers I find, but I never disinfect them and I'm yet to get any disease from them, so I don't think it's a necessary step and emptying them is enough.

Tip pressing the button to pick up off the ground will sometimes put items in a pot so check your pot before boiling water I accidentally boiled 2 full magazines
