It's funny reading all the comments with people arguing over which is best Audi or BMW, I wonder how many of you have actually driven both cars? I had an Audi A6 for 4 years and loved it and thought it was the best car in its class but when it came to replacing it I thought I should try the BMW just to make sure the A6 was still the best. As soon as O drove the 5 series I realised actually they are both bloody brilliant. There really is nothing in it so stop arguing.
I would get the Infiniti... it probably has the best reliability ratings out of the three, and you gotta love a company that has created the Leaf and the GTR. They have some incredible engineers at Renult/Nissan.
One thing i especially like about the M37 is it's a lot less common; I live in northern wisconsin and seelotsof high end mercs, bmws and audis everyday(lot's of rich doctors). I'd definitely like having something that no one else has.
Just got a 201p prestige A6 This f$&&ed car rocks! The electronics are so much improved from the 2009. iPod connections? No sweat amigo !!!! Very fast! Power is there and the car just has that much more room in it to make it enjoyable...
The Infiniti kinda resembles a Maserati Quattroporte, is different sexy, plus way more technology inside the M37, and lets not for get the maintenance. German cars do not last as long as Japanese vehicles.. How many old Nissans and Toyotas you find still running the streets and how many old Audi's and Mercedes cars do you see in the streets. I think the comparison as far as the durability between German and Nippon, the Japanese win by far, they make them last longer...
Nice cars, I'll take an Infiniti M37 over the other 2. I like the Audi A6 but it has no advantages over the Infiniti except for the fact it has Daytime running lights. I care for BMW 5 series, they dont pay any attention to the design in thier interiors but the outside is very attractive.
@Amidat WHAT?! Lol, I JUST 5 minutes ago came back front testing the M37 and holy crap man, it was amazing. I own a 2006 M35 and I gotta say they did a amazing job! They styling is awesome you gotta go see it in person, the look of the rims with the sport package looks amazing in any color on this car. The interior was amazing dude, the materials inside of the car everything feels assembled well and nice, it is true leather in a sense that I have not seen in any other car in this class.
Am very suprised they had such high praise for the Audi...not because it's not a good car...but it's suprising that a car that is to be replaced next year is still so competitive with it's brand new competitors. They liked the Audi's handling best but they didn't really mention about the engine..
@kingfarticus Yes, true, people simply don't complain about the shape and style, simply because its so elegant, same as Rolls Royce, they dont change their body either, simply because they are loved so much the way they are.
@MCJTexas1987 Ok one, how do you manage to spell Infiniti wrong, its all over this blog?? Second, yes you can compare Japanese luxury with German luxury. For one Infiniti is the only luxury competitor that measures up to the germans or should I say measure up to the M37 itself. And how about we let the experts do the comparisons clealry the M sedan is a viable if not better competitor among its rivals. The Infintiti M sedan has recieved the most cross shoppers in the luxury midsized segment.
@aqwayne I somewhat agree here but if the market were not looking for performance then the competition would be headings towards to becoming the most BUICK of all!!! I think everyone wants a car that is well-rounded with performance, luxury, safety, reliability, and etc.
1 HP beating 10HP? The M3 makes a lot of power at crazy high RPM, the nismo Z beats it just because of torque...the same reason an old 305HP Camaro (that was making 350lb ft of torque) would be faster than something that had a really high peak horsepower number but not a whole lot of torque...the width of the powerband is just as important as the peak power. I don't get how you rationalize the Infinity as best in terms of development. A new and original design doesn't mean it's better...
@Kingfarticus- are you honestly suggesting that BMW has drastically changed over the years and Audi hasn't? BOTH manufacturers have kept the same basic design- WHY? Because they are winning designs that attract lots of people. Nothing wrong with BMW but you could at least have a legit reason to like it...
And gotta give credit to Nissan/Infiniti. Though they're lacking in sales compared to Toyota and Honda, they're easily the best of the big 3. I would never touch a Japanese car in a million years, unless its a GT-R, '10 Maxima, 370Z and/or G37 Coupe.
I think the German rivals are great looking cars, especially the BMW 5 series. The Audi A6 is nice but the design is very bland and very old, all they did was facelift the car. The BMW 5 series however looks very well executed, it looks like a semi 7 series. But in all truth I think the best vehicle here in terms of performance, reliability and technology is the Infiniti M37 sedan,they have turned the M into an executive luxurious saloon, it very elegant and sophistacated. I would take the M37.
@94XJ Who told you that it beats it just becauce of torque? the M3 is 295 lb-ft of torque and the Nismo is only 276 lb-ft of torque .. and about the M37s?? its because if the automotive press has awarded the previous M several best-in-class awards in direct comparisons against its competitors how it will be the new one?? the other competitors didnt change their interiors they are the same with a few technology and maybe not
You said police and taxis choose the best cars, and in the US the Ford Crown Victoria is the most popular police and taxi car. The Mercedes E class is the equivalent of the Ford Crown Victoria in Germany.
Hey, when the guy driving the Audi says that it has more or body-roll than the other two cars, can someone give me the correct or a good definition of body-roll? I mean I've heard the term before but on one ever gave me a clear definition of it. Awesome cars and awesome vid!
@allstarhs Another and probably one of the most crucial reason for Infiniti partnering up with Mercedes is because Infiniti will be introducing a new Full size Flag ship sedan around 2012- 2013 which will cosequently compete with the Mercedes S-class, Audi A8, Lexus LS and BMW 7 series. This is the first time Daimler-Mercedes parterns up with the Japanese luxury auto maker, word around is a new Infiniti DX compact SUV will be based off the new to come Mercedes A-class platform aswell.
@goodbaduglybeautiful You can close a german car's door 30 times per second and it will still sound tighter than a japanese door... I have a japanese car, changed it for an audi...
@kingfarticus Wrong. The fact that it hasnt changed much since '97 is a testament to the amazing design. BMW, on the other hand, changed but changed back because purists were pissed.
@Johncarson9113 I have to agree on the M37. I'd buy that one of the three. I love Audi's though, but they stay in the shop all the time. For long ownership, the M37 is the way to go. Infiniti has come a long way in refinement.

You guys seem to put driving pleasure over everything else, granted they are all suppose to be "sport sedans" but I bet over 50% of the people that buy these cars will not push these cars at all.
Nobody knew in Europe that China could've become the world second economy after the US,its time to know this is not 1960,70,80,90's this is 2010,where the Asian own the world market ,they make better car ,if you looking for technology in car don't go no further than Japan ,tell me a car with a better design inside than the M,with the M37 technology if it was a AUDI or BMW you would have to pay $20 to $30000 more ,BMW needs to think about his interior design which is the worse in all luxury car,
Surprised they didn't have Merc in here. Actually, check that. Not surprised Merc isn't compared. They're losing it with their Honda-esque exteriors and their old man consumer base are going back to Caddys. Its been a bad year for German engineering, and the only German I'll touch is the Audi. The C6's front looks like it hasn't been updated in a while. Aside from the grille, it looks exactly like my B6.
The new BMW looks amazing, but the Audi is the most beautiful of the three. the Infiniti is a fine looking car, but I don't think, that it would fit in Europe, where i live, so... I would have the Audi, please:) But as an Avant - estate - looks a lot better then the other two, but thats just me - don't kill me:)
@futball24 - that's what it is .... if you buy a german car you have to be able to afford to keep up with the maintenance... and that's why people in america call them unreliable. overseas people consider german cars very reliable. it all comes down to maintenance... yes german cars in america are more expensive to maintain... but if you can afford it... it will generally remain reliable.
BMW is the most luxurious of them all with the most technology and most sportier of them all. Best overall vehicle and the best car in the world. The other two build there cars to compete with the BMW since they are the benchmark.
And the A6? same as the BMW nothing new but the M37s?? Its new from the interior to the exterior and its nothing like the interior of any Infiniti simply a new design .. this makes it the best in it class in terms of development
@kingfarticus You know, the C5 A6 with the 3.0 looks like it's underpowered on paper but the transmission makes up for it quite nicely and all my friends that have driven mine are surprised by it actually (one of whom drives a Civic with a turbocharged B18 which is of course faster). The 2.7T and 4.2 V8 get the over 5500 pound car to 60 in 6.8 and 6.7 seconds respectively which is pretty good for a luxury sedan. Then there's the RS6 with the biturbo 4.2 that pulled 4.5 0-60 times.
@DATcrazyArchitect I love the new Infiniti look, but german cars are reliable if you maintain them. My 04' Audi A4 has just over 190,000 on it and runs strong. Maintenance is key with all cars, german, japanese or american. Also Mercedes Benz are german too.
@bgnyc1 The G37s doesnt have 350HP .. its has 330HP and it can compete with the 3 series which has TT 300HP and lighter .. but the 370Z Nismo has 350HP and it rapes the M3 from 0-60 and it depends on the driver from the rolling because I saw some vids about the 370Z Nismo beating the M3 even in rolling and you know how much HP that the M3 has right?? and the GT-R is a great example to prove how is 1 HP is like 10 HPs from German and American cars .. you're talking about tuners pal serious power
@ViperVenomACR I'm agree with you, buuut I'm waiting to see the next A6, becouse the actual version it's only a restyling of the old version, and the 535i it's a brand new car.
@kingfarticus not exactly - this shape came in 2004 .. or 2003 maybe not sure- the previous "round" one is quite a lot more boring... and i feel they are about to ruin it with the upcoming one (hopefully not)
@n8neiTen8n Nope, just I don't like to see comparison between PREMIUM cars (BMW, Audi, Mercedes) with NOT PREMIUM (nissa, and every other japanese product).
@DATcrazyArchitect E550 has much more powerful engine so that's why it doesn't fit in this comparison. If you were to take a Merc for a fair test that should be the E350.
ok, reviews like these are starting to piss me off... if you want a sports car with power and handling get a god damn ferrari or maserati. obviuosly your not going to find enough fun out of those three cars... at least your getting the best of both worlds in a bmw, or audi, infiniti- they have a bit of everything... luxury, performance,technology...
I had an infiniti G37. What I learned is that Infiniti's handle like complete shit. Audi and BMW are the way to go. Audi has more in terms of comfort and handling while the BMW has more in power and elegance.
i like the Audi best because of its 3.0 litre supercharged engine, it makes great sounds. the Bmw is a cool looking car but doesnt make my head turn like an Audi does and the other thing...well i wouldnt take that any day. actually i would take it and exchange it for a used audi
@NakedSnakeBlGBOSS Audi Quattro system is not focused on FWD, but in RWD .. in fact is an 70% of the power goin to the rear wheels. Watch the Audi R8 v10 review of Jeremy Clarkson on the Duel DVD.

@nilesh2104 - Nah, the GS is old already. It wouldnt keep up with these. I would wait for the new GS. Audi is redesigning their A6. Mercedes E is out, 5-Series is out but we still wait on GS, A6, and Jag
@NakedSnakeBlGBOSS its not junk at all. If would not been for Audi, AWD would have never existed. Quattro is the Genesis of AWD, wich appeared first on the A1 and absolutly dominated the Group B with the S series. The GTR is way faster indeed, but journalist all arround the world may prefer the R8 becouse of the RWD prefference of the Quattro System, becouse its more fun to drive due to the oversteer tendence.
Japan fails vs German vehicle engineering. Japanese HP is not equivalent to German HP in most cases. A G37 with 350 HP will only feel as powerful as a BMW or Audi with only 260 HP.
@kingfarticus The Porsche 911 has had the same basic shape since the 1960's and I would still buy one. Don't fix what isn't broken. BMW's new 5-Series is ugly...it's a shame.
@NakedSnakeBlGBOSS - Infiniti's can keep up in terms of speed and agility...and yes Infiniti's are more reliable than the German marques...but you call also tell they are more cheaply made. They are just not up to the same level in terms of refinement - materials etc.
@kingfarticus Audi competes by putting leading edge engineering technology into their cars. ie.......FSI motor technology , V10 TDI motor and most notably, the best AWD system in the world. This is the same technology that they use in the Veyron Bugatti, Lamborghinis, and Porsche. .......all made by the same company. Volkswagon Audi Group (VAG). Audis racing heritage goes back over 70 years. The motors and cars win races...lots of them. Have you ever even driven an Audi?
