Phil sorry for such a late response as I’m just now seeing your question. It’s very possible that the actuator is going bad but still slowly changing over, but it’s a possibility to be in the control head unit slowly sending the signal to the actuator. The actuator will be the cheaper and faster first option to try first, as the control head can be hard to find used and most of the time highly expensive.
thanks for the video. i have cold passenger and warm driver. 2010 camry xle. do you have a part number for that actuator? I really hope thats all that is my issue.
No I’m sorry I don’t have the part number, but if you call or go by your local Napa store with year, make, model, and engine size information. Just ask for the hot cold blend door actuator, and they will get you the correct part! If I remember correctly you can also pause the video and get the part number off the factory actuator I removed and have them cross the number over for you. Hope this helps!
Yes this will fix your problem. The only other possible option would be if the control head wasn’t sending signal to turn the actuator. But in most cases if that was the issue neither side would change regardless of what you set it on.
