I got myn 13 years ago when they first came out it's been perfect I plan to keep driving it for a very long time its not rusting or wearing out I see no end in sight.
I have NEVER been a big Chevy fan and drove one of these on a whim and you know what, I quite liked it. The interior is much more attractive than the Tundra (regardless of trim) and the real world mpg was very good (for a v8 pickup)
I have driven GM 1500 trucks since 1975, but no more since the idiots went backward in 2005 and started putting DRUM BRAKES on the rear of all 1500 trucks unless you order the TRAILER MAX package with its fuel hogging 6.0 engine. I gave away a 2005 crew cab LT because of the shitty brakes. I now drive a 2500 HD just to have 4 wheel disk brakes.
I disagree with the whole dodge making this interior look like it's from the dark ages. I have a friend who drives a 2007 chevy 1500 for everyday but a 2011 dodge cummins for work. He hates his dodge because he's used to the luxury of a chevy. I have to agree with him. I think dodge has a crappy interior. And I'm a ford man defending chevy! lol
im a ford guy do they put disel in them or are they all gas what is the towing capacity in what is fuel mileage with gas and what is the fuel mileage with disel and on a scale from 1 to 10 where would you rate the truck
+Trent Grabau Diesel you get bad gas mileage and Gas you get somewhat okay depending on the year and engine. I give ford a 5 because i like chevy and i think chevy is the best.
Actually reviwer sir...frame wise, Ford and Dodge are older. 2004 was the first redesign and the release of the F-150 frame. Dodge carried over alot of the basic frame structure from the 2002 release, but redesigned the rear suspension. The GM 1/2 ton twins have the newest frame, released in 2007.
@azyome yes it does Chevy makes the best trucks out there Most towing agencies or Construction companies use silverado cause you can beat on chevy's all you want and it still run great not to mention they tow REALLY well
@CrashJSTest ...and it was out dated as soon as it came out. Its built the way the big 3 used to. Boxed front from bumper to the firewall and then open c-channel the way back.
I know its sn old comment and you may be dead by now but it was kinda pointless...the 4.3 is the same v6 used since the mid 90s .....not much gonna change.. its simple reliable and adequate but no longer is the most fuel efficient choice thanks to modern technology and engine design
fuck the opening statement, i decided to buy a dodge... what my dad drove, and it broke down in butt fuck no were Saskatchewan in -52 degrees... now im an owner of a 2010 chev
I have a question, If I get a truck like that and it says on the back "Flex Fuel" which I know means E85, Do I have have to use E85 or can I just use regular unleaded?
@aqinthe Depends on what you buy certain trucks are just for construction workers or some company you did not buy a public truck and they also do this to lower the cost for the companies too so they don't have to pay soo much
That's ridiculous how expensive vehicles are today. Come on i can buy a damn house for 40k, and have something to show for, a good investment. Vehicles depreciate in value, right when you drive them off the lot. Especially GM.
@ralphie19572 ya, My 2002 silverado has disc all around, but if I buy a new one I gey drums in the back WTF? I thought technology moves forward. Whats next for 2012, no more power windows?
Plain and featureless exterior that looked like it had been carved out of a lump of clay, the GM engineers then designed the most boring and cheap looking plastic interior possible and called it a day.
