Mike Vick has a legendary performance, scoring 6 total TDs (4 passing, 2 rushing), helping Philly score 59 points in 3 quarters as they demolish Washington on Monday night.
It was good football but I would say peak football was anytime before the Brady rules when the defense could actually touch the damn quarterback. Watch games from the 80s and 90s. Lawrence Taylor used to destroy quarterbacks to the point where you'd be watching a game and see him sack a QB and everyone would think the dude was dead. DBs used to be able to hit receivers a lot harder then, too. Now the defense is tiptoeing around because they're afraid of getting a penalty if they hit someone wrong. Back in the days before all the new rules, both teams would be out there just teeing off on each other. It was truly something to behold.
@@cactusjack2264 wtf? Reids creative gameplan and scheme made him better, in Atlanta he didn't have that. Plus Reid made him comeback player of the year
Ramal lmao, you’re the one that was talking as if Andy Reid made him a better player, I’m just pointing out that he was already great before Andy even came into the picture. Back to my original comment, Mike Vick just picked up where he left off while in Philly. Also, I’m a Cowboys fan fyi
I remember watching this live while running on the treadmill at the gym. It was a 24/7 gym and I was the only guy there. I was screaming out loud to nobody. Amazing game.
10:06 I will NEVER forget this play by Vick. It was my first year playing fantasy football and I picked up Vick off waivers. I went absolutely nuts after that pass. Absolutely electric start to a historic performance.
Me & a friend were down 50 pts in separate leagues. Both had Vick & we joked that maybe he could win us the game...... omg we're we going crazy that night
@@Stax2High next man up now is kyler Murray..I know they wanna piss on his name for not watching film but he kicks fantasy azz and that’s all that matters!
@@snakesupreme lol I was hip to him last year & I succeeded in pairing him with Dhop. Too bad injuries fd everything up & I wound up with most points scored in the league yet missed the playoffs smfh 🤦
@FOOTBALL FANTASTIC I'm a Steelers fan but I was at the game with a bunch of Redskin fans. They were so blown lol. I couldn't care less the Redskins lost, it was an entertaining game anyway. The Eagles fans at the stadium were _extra_ annoying that night, I ended up chasing some Eagles fan around in the parking lot after the game for throwing a beer but he got away. I remember I blacked out on the ride home and found my wallet in my driveway the next day. Gotta love the NFL!!
the problem is that i don't think vick was working much on progressions and reading a defense before prison. he'd have like 1-2 seconds of looking for receiver and if nthing was there he'd run
Michael Vick prevailed against his former team mate Donnovan McNabb in!!! A game to remember for the Philadelphia Eagles!!! I love Michael Vick he's the best dual threat quaterback of all time!!! Michael Vick is my favorite player in the NFL!!! I ❤ #7 Michael Vick!!! Michael Vick had a good year in 2009 and 2010!!! I'm glad that Michael Vick won the football game against the Washington Redskins because we needed to keep on winning. Let's go Eagles!!! Fly eagles fly!!! I love Michael Vick #7!!! Michael Vick is my man!!! Michael Vick had a great preformence against the Washington Redskins!!! I love Michael Vick!!! Go Eagles!!! I ❤ philly football!!! I ❤ MV7!!! Michael Vick is beast in the NFL!!! I love Michael Vick!!! He's my guy!!! Michael Vick is the best dual threat quaterback in the NFL!!! I ❤ #7!!! Let's go Eagles!!! Fly eagles fly!!!
I was at this game. The most amazing thing I had ever seen. By the end of the 1st quarter, I lost my voice singing the fight song. This team should have won a SB. #FlyEaglesFly
I remember this game I was so excited when Michael Vick threw that 88 yard TD to DeSean Jackson on the opening play for a TD and I just kept getting more excited as the 1st quarter went on
The fact that Ron jaworski was guessing the plays early was incredible. “I’d go straight to desean Jackson “ or “wouldn’t be surprised if this was a double reverse”
Thoughts on the Eagles TDs from a Redskins fan: *1st TD* - Ok, they caught us sleeping. Tighten up fellas. *2nd TD* - _Starting to worry._ Defense is looking confused. *3rd TD* - WTF man. _How do we stop this offense._ *4th TD* - I knew a big TD run was coming sooner or later. *5th TD* - He was fucking out of bounds! Fuck this game! _Secretly wants to see what Vick and this offense is gonna do next._ *6th TD* - This seems too easy for him. _Is he that good, or are we that bad?_ *7th TD* - Why didn't one of Vick's punk ass boys take the wrap on that dog fighting shit so he could've kept playing?!
They tried at first. The prosecutors flipped the script and made deals with his boys. Lighter sentences if they testify against him. One of Vicks closest friends fined him out, they haven't spoke since. They knew each other since they were like 7.
Gruden called it first play on point, Vick rolling left and then let's the cannon go. To me most impressive thing is how easy he makes the deep ball look 👌
I know right. Mcnabb, Haynsworth, Shanahan. How they were talking about bringing in a whole new offense and Mcnabb not even knowing that offense. Portis and Santana Moss were gems tho.
100 million to Haynesworth: lays on the ground while opponent scores a touchdown 78 million to McNabb: gets his lunch money stolen by the eagles defense all game 31 million to Moss: ball bounces off his hands faster than my checks bounce on a thursday night
I'll never forget this game. In my FF league that year and that week, I was down 60 points and had just Mike Vick going into that Monday night game. I remember counting it out before the game, how many TDs he needed. Thinking it was possible if only for a miracle. Then it just unfolded like it did... and he scored 64 points. :D
As an Eagle fan, living in Virginia, I was at this game. The Redskins' fans were absolutely in shock. I believe this game was the beginning of FedEx field no longer being a 'home field' for Washington. Now, the Commanders are about to abandon the RalJon mosoleum, for the Woodbridge porta-john stadium.
Besides Elway I think Vick has one of if not the best arm in league history………Look at how effortlessly he could throw a tight spiral for 60 + yards. People today rave about Mahomes arm talent. Vick was barely 6’0 tall 200 pounds with any absolute cannon for an arm.
Amazing Quality! I remember this game vividly. Went to a sports bar in Texas where they happened to have Redskins and Eagles fan clubs in the same bar, separated by rooms (Redskins had a restaurant style area, Eagles had a high top bar area). Me and a few others were there and EXPLODED on Vick's first pass for a TD, then it continued throughout the night. They were enjoying their bar style chicken fried steak and fries while I enjoyed beers and wings. So much fun talking trash in the same bar, but no fights or skirmishes cause of the suburb environment. lots of fun that night
@Ty Long Uh no, did you watch the video? Description CLEARLY says Eagles @ Redskins (2010) I may have misinterpreted the question but yes, the bar was in a suburb north of Dallas.
I remember the Michael Vick experience in Philly He took over the city and Philadelphia became Vickadelphia Hes the poster child for second chance athletes From a football perspective the Eagles should've done more to protect him They already had Maclin McCoy and DeSean Jackson under contract They should've put money into one thing during Michael Vicks time in Philly: Offensive Line and Defensive backs. The Eagles already had plenty of offensive fire power and especially when your QB is a dual threat and spends an extended period of time out of the pocket you have to protect him BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY! On top of that you fire Sean McDermott but hire your O line coach as your Defensive Coordinator which completely messed Nnamdis game up cuz he was a man to man corner and they played him in the defense like he was Marcus Peters That's not his game You cut David Akers and the Eagles didnt find his long term replacement until Jake Elliot really Brady got at least 3 or 4 SB rings cuz he got clutch kickers who come up big Vick could've played better but I dont think it's all on him That they done things differently They really would've thrived and made history
Vick isn't in the conversation as 1 of the leagues best who played. You need a ring or 2 for that. But definitely 1 of the most dynamically intriguing players ever. The raw physical talent of Michael Vick at the QB position remains unmatched. The guy could fly & had one of the biggest arms I've seen. The ball would just shoot out of that left hand on a line like it was shot of a cannon. Every throw, long or short was a laser with stupid velocity. Only if he had the physical size needed to be durable, he would've lasted longer. He was just too little to last with all the athleticism he had. But if he was 6'5" 250 like Cam Newton but with his same speed & quickness along with that arm, he'd probably still be playing.
45:25 Man I feel that poor girl's pain. Imagine spending your hard earned dollars to see your team get humiliated like that and meanwhile the players just don't care that they're getting they butt kicked.
Can you imagine being a skins fan and paying a good amount of money for a ticket to this game lol. Not only that, but it was raining too... talk about a bad night.
Donovan McNabb brought Michael back, in pleading ownership and Coach to give him a second chance, Mike Vick then took Donovan's job which I didn't think Donovan saw that coming, looking back I don't think Donovan would have made the same choices what do you think?
He would do the same thing again. He said when he is dead and gone, he wants to be remembered as someone who was always willing to sacrifice himself, if it meant helping someone else.
I thought this eagles team was going to win the sb that yr they lost a close playoff gm to green bay who went on to win sb that yr they were the most explosive eagles tm i ever saw and was ggaming on gb toward the end of that gm i thought they were best in nfl at this time
