2010 Ford F150 XLT 5.4 V8 - Steering rack fluid transfer line replacement. Leaking Power Steering.

This video shows the replacement of one of the fluid transfer lines on the steering rack. The line was badly corroded due to rust and started leaking badly. Line was 40 CAD and with two gaskets came up to 60 CAD. Also needed to buy two tiny o-rings which cost a $1. System uses Mercon V Automatic Transmission Fluid for Power Steering. 1 Litre (quart) is $11 CAD.

Thank you for the video very helpful, having the same issue only its both lines on my 2010 f-150, got the lines from our local Ford dealer, planning on installing them today now i know what to expect , video is inspiring.

@@yogi799 After the lines were installed and fluid was added there were leaks in both lines , took your advice and bought two packs of those Dorman O-ring assortments, going to try to install them without removing the lines completely, also removed that plastic front skirt piece to get better access as shown in the video, thanks again.

Part numbers for the two rack and pinion lines are, 9L3Z-3A714-A for the LH and 9L3Z-3A717-A for the RH. I wish I could find the part number for the banjo bolt because the one on the passenger side is to rusty to get a 17mm socket on.
