Less than 2 minutes into the video l already knew which you preferred lol. The poor hybrid never stood a chance. I've got a 2008 civic hybrid and whilst it's no fireball, that's not actually the point as its designed for economy. It keeps up with the traffic no problem. I average about 48mpg which is twice what l got from my old volvo S40. This means l only go to gas stations half as much as before. In fact in the 2 years I've had the vehicle it's paid for itself in the savings I've made since switching over from the volvo.
Im a studentlooking at buying a my first car. im looking between a USED 2009 Honda civic Hybrid with 109K miles ($4100) vs 2010 Honda civic with 154k miles used ($4000). i just need and want something thats a good drive, easy to maintain, and comfortable drive. just need basics and decently cheap. Im buying them through an individual online.. no dealership . What are things i need to keep in mind, need to ask (maintanace and TTL wise? TX)
Id say if you don't want a God awful hassle where you can't even get any of your money back, don't get the hybrid lol. Both civics are usually known for premature brake wear at times, issues with wheel bearings and even motor mounts. But I own both and haven't had a problem with any of them. The civic hybrids have issues with ima battery packs and AC/DC converters go bad. These hybrids don't have an alternator. The 12 volt battery charges with the ima battery pack. Once that is bad. Your 12v battery could eventually die off. In a regular gas civic you won't have any of that. Plus you get similar mpg and a ton more power. I would go for the 2010 gas model.
Not talkin shi, and ty very much for the video. Just wanna point out since its so important to some, that lx does not do 0-60 in 6 seconds. 8.5 - 9sec maybe. (You did mention 6-8) I drive manual on coils, catback, intake and im still 8 second-ish. Again ty for vid!
I knew it was right in that 8 second range I wasn’t sure I had no timer running I was doing judgement solely from eyeing the speedometer haha I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
@@Specmauto I didn't have the chance to drive a Civic 1.8, but I can say that I personally have a Civic 1.3 hybrid (battery in good condition / 100% charged). From 0 to 100km/h I beat a bmw 520d 163hp. I think civic hybrid 2009 like mine, it's a fast car enough at least at its weight. Of course the downside is that you can't accelerate a few times in a row. Good luck, have a nice day or night!
@@TheKoolRacer i don't know much about the 2009 and newer IMA hybrids, but I know the 2006 through 2008 with the nickel metal hydride batteries are junk and are plagued with problems. I'm glad you have a good experience with yours though. Thank you for the comment! Have a good day as well
I have a 08 hybrid it's very quick. Yours needs work the IMA LIGHTS LIT. your not on all power your battery's are gone. Let's do another Video . I'll race that LX with my JAPAN MANUFACTURER HYBRID. Against your Canada's American LX HONDA MANUFACTURER CAR. I will Show you quality in Car's. To make fair I will give you one car length up Front plus the RU-vid video on my 08 civic. and showing 54 miles hwy And 46 city MPG. @@victorab1326 when you open up the driver door look at the manufacturer plate is it manufactured in Canada America or is it manufactured Japan if it's manufactured Japan buy it I would not hesitate on that. The Japanese model is built so much better and it will last a lot longer big difference but very big difference
