Awesome video... so much knowledge. It was great to see how you spotted the leaks using the soap and water, thanks for that. So in the end it was a faulty big bore kit that was causing the problems.. who would have known

I use a Harbor freight 500 lb hydraulic table cart it really saves your back as it gets the bike up higher.

I was looking at those. I do have limited space and sometimes work on ATVs so I’m not sure if that would work for me. They are pretty heavy, yeah?

@@restoroosterohv they are not real heavy but i put a ratchet strap on mine and you can move a bike right up against the wall with the tires off the ground , i have two and it lets me move the bikes around to park them whatever way. Its been handy for other stuff around the garage

Wassup my guy I love what u doin w/those bikes I’m most definitely a fan bcuz I refer to ur videos a lot wen I’m stuck like now! But if it isn’t too much trouble I need ur input on this 2007 Kx250f that I’m working on I just did a full rebuild on it finally got it started last nite but the valves was doin alotta of clattering so 2day I reshimmed them & now the bike don’t wanna start at all I’ve been kicking this thing since 11am! Any advice frm 1 mechanic to the next?! 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thank you. Be sure that your cam timing is spot on with the piston on TDC and on the compression stroke. Lobes on both cams should be pointing away from each other and slightly facing up from level (camshaft timing marks should also be lined up properly). At this point, re-check your clearances. Intake should be 0.10-0.15mm and exhaust 0.17-0.22mm.

Everything is on point all my dots on the cams 28 pins in between the timing marks on the cam sprockets I reshimmed again still nothing! I have a tusk feeler gauge so wen u say 10-15mm do u mean go off of the bottom # w/ the mm rite beside it rite?!

If you need standard measurements, its 0.0039 ∼ 0.0059 in on the intake and 0.0067 ∼ 0.0087 in. exhaust. If your clearances are good, next I would check to be sure you didn't bend a valve buy doing a compression check at least and a cylinder leakage test. It was running so you know your spark and fuel are good.

Ok I’m confused as to which line on the flywheel is top dead center! There’s 3 marks if I’m turning it counterclockwise is it the 2nd or third line?!

pull the spark plug, stick a long screwdriver or straw down until it contacts the piston. Turn the flywheel counter clockwise until the piston is at is top most travel on the compression stroke. The cams should point in the direction I mentioned earlier in our conversation.

No doubt, they have to pay a fortune for them running and probably still owe on them, going after an 07 kx250 f today $600. With a title. I am in Ohio and bikes seem to be a bit higher here.

$600 is a good deal regardless of the condition.

I try to pay no more than 1000 for locked up bikes or box bikes, they call me crate bike jeffy because that’s the stuff I can afford to buy! Lol. Parts are crazy for this trash and most of the dudes on here are not making a profit from fixing them they put way too much in them.. I try not to buy any bikes older than 2000, unless 97 CR 250’s

Thank you for your input. I like to be between 600-800 for locked bikes. A lot of people are looking to get $1500 for them but you just see them for sale week after week.
