Johnny Weir will always be known for expressing himself. Despite the great technical skaters knowadays, JW stands out as most artistic. Im glad I got to see him skate during my era. Still unmatched and always a pleasure to see. Great music selection by Di blasio/Juan Gabriel. Piano seems to suit him best.

GREAT performace. I don't think any other male figure skater has endured such a huge amount of personal criticism as Johnny Weir. He shows ENORMOUS courage, bravery and TALENT.
Although this video is 11 years ago and what you wrote is from 4 years ago still feel like everyone knows now that Johnny had a lot of pressure about skating. He didn't start when he was young he started much much later in life but he never could really get over his fear. His legs often and gave him trouble because of pressure. But as you know he went on to win Awards and competitive skating but he is absolutely a great dancer skater.
Fantastic. One of the very few skaters I enjoy watching from beginning to end. This guy has it all - entertainment and talent. The negative comments are shocking. It's a shame in this day and age we can't accept and embrace his individuality.
He is so artistic , How the judges had not given him the bronze medal is very unfair. Johnny I love to watch all your performances. To me you are gold.
I've watched his videos before but I've never been amazed at his performance as I have at this. That was flawless and stupendous. I don't understand the scoring system but he should have gotten something that looked like a perfect score.
I just discovered his talent last year in November, funally ENOUGH I watched figure skating when I was young I'm 30 now, and I've watched as much as I can of him. You know what I've found he's constant and his performances WOW everyone. The fact he didn't medal in torino or Vancouver is BULL S***. Ok rant over love you Johnny Weir. Btw the fact he's Norwegian background but can speak Russian FLUENTLY is SOO HOT OMG.😱
It's impossible to just make it with talent. Presence is the biggest thing that should matter to a performer, and it can make the biggest difference. He has one of the most amazing presences I've ever seen.

Johnny skates his heart out, perfect jumps, great height, amazingly strong spins yet he didn't even get on the Podium at Vancouver. I think some judges may have been prejudiced because of his possible sexual orientation; he's just too "different" for them. Such a shame and a loss for us all But Johnny will persevere and continue his career in other venues, I know. We wish him well indeed!
Johnny is amazing, such a positive influence, such a passionate artist, such a skilled skater with an amazing personality, great sense of humour and cares for his fans, and best of all, does NOT give a fuck about those who criticize him, after all, they didnt help him get to the top where he is now. This was one of your most amazing performances Johnny! It was the best of the night and got the best standing ovation. You should have gotten an 88 or 89 on this. I wish the FS could have matched this, hopefully it will in Vancouver. He should definitely try for the quad in his FS at the Olympics. He did a beautiful one during the warm up.

i know people have a right to freedom of speech but people really do need to think about what they post on public forums - whether gay or straight, black or white - whatever - you dont get to be a 3 time US champ by winging it - he is the total package - graceful and athletic - who lives his life the best way he can being true to himself - giving 100% on and off the ice - thats what i felt when i met him - what more can you ask of someone when they represent the USA - ROCK ON JOHNNY!!
This is beautiful... he has such perfect carriage. I love him and Daisuke... I could watch them just do crossovers. I know he was 3rd overall but he's my favorite American... go Johnny!

Love Johnny! I hope he competes in Worlds next year. *can't wait to see his new choreography* It still breaks my heart that he was underscored at the Olympics though. PS: Johnny Weir has not been invited to the Stars on Ice tour (the only figure skating tour in the U.S.) because they deemed him "not family-friendly." Tours are very important for skaters to earn a living. If you guys haven't signed the "include Johnny Weir" petition going around, please do so and spread the petition!

Definately underscored on this one. His scores were lower than they should have been on footwork and spins BUT his sheer presence on the ice, attention to detail, speed, flow, effortlessness would have annhialated all the competition in the 6.0 system. I'm still shocked that he fell from the good graces of the ISU and USFSA, they could have capitalized so much on his skills and personality to increase the popularity and notariaty of skating, but instead they chose to shun him.
OHMAHMUTHAFUCKING GAWD YO no, for real, everyone has been spazzing out over Tom Hiddleston as Loki and I've been like why is everyone so hot for this Loki dude, because personally I liked him better when he was Johnny Weir (meaning they look almost exactly alike)
i totally agree! i love this performance, and i really wish he would add a quad to his FS at the Olympics. in an interview, they asked him about adding a quad and he said he wouldn't because its not 100 % reliable =/

wow I beginning to realize that he he is one of the biggest trailblazers we have right now who is redefining what it means to be a man -sexuality is a continuum...Sports is threatened by this and I think he is to be admired for his commitment to being himself.
