Fantastic job explaining the small details, which are the most crucial. One of the few people I've seen actually explain the important bits, and explain them very well! Great job man, keep it up!
Thanks for the video! Helped me understand what I was getting into. Definitely will save you time if you understand the size of bolts beforehand. 15mm bolts for the mounts and starter. I had to use a swivel at the end of my extension to remove the starter bolts. It’s a wiggle game with the mount. Good luck.
I been a mechanic for 38 years and never posted a video but watching all this videos that have a click bait on them makes me sick, removing an engine in 10 minutes ,replacing as starter in 30 minutes and rebuilding transmission in 5 minutes, if any mechanic wants to educate the public to screw up his fellow mechanics at least be honest and put a detailed video from A to Z and the tools that are used and maybe the brand and the cost of the tools
👍🏼 Good Job. Thanks for showing us your Durango starter replacement how to video. I love Dode, especially Durangos. I'm still driving 2nd generation, 09 Durango. I searched for Durango starter change, & this popped up. I need instructions on 09. Thanks anyway! 👍🏼💪🏼
Book says 2.6 hours for this job for the 3.6L with RWD. It is 3.1 hours for the 3.6L with AWD. The 5.7 and 6.4 with RWD are only 0.9 hours but the AWD with the big engine is 2.6 hours.
it's not that bad. just remove the three bolts that hold the transfer case in and let it drop the inch or two down, then just pull it out the starter. will only come out one way with a little finesse
Trying to start my wife’s 2011 Durango. Foot on brake, press start, lights come on and nothing from the engine. Is the starter bad? Where would you start? Thx for the tips!
It calls for that little amount of time? It calls for 2.6 hours for the rear wheel drive in 5 hours for the all-wheel drive according to my Mitchell on demand software
Actually you you have to take that motor mount completely out you ain't going to get the charger out the way he's doing it in a 2016 Durango you have the compressor lines in the way you can't move that forward enough to get the starter out you have to literally remove the that because you don't have enough space cuz I had to change it on my 2017 they redid the air conditioning lines and it's in the way
@@kentearly805 did you change the gold ring every time you change the oil filter if you didn't it's going to leak because that'll ring goes bad pretty easy when you take the canister off the engine
and this is why Dodge cars are trash...putting parts that will need to be changed for sure in the future in the worst places possible. Of all the american car companies this one is by far the worst. They build trash. and Anyone who had ever owned 1 and worked on it can atest to this fact. Its jst built like they had meetings regarding how they can make it complex for no damn reason. Cant wait for them to finally end up going broke. Selling chargers and the 900 versions of the challenger to make their money...giving away all that HP and the cars can hardly put that power down to the road...bleh...buy something else. this company is shot!!
