Have a 2015 focus, and spent $2000 3 years ago to get the clutch whatever replaced. Now its slipping again. I just got a letter from Ford a couple weeks ago about how they extended the tcm warranty to 10 years, or 150,000 miles. They'll replace the TCM free of charge. I have an appointment next week to take it in to my local Ford dealer.

I have a 2015 ford focus as well, I didn’t know that they extended it to 10 years, I couldn’t remember how long it was and I have been trying to get answers from my local ford dealer and they won’t return my calls. So thank you very much!

good luck, they will say they cant get a tcm and it will sit there for months. or they will say its the transmission and charge you thousands.

@@dankollars4501 didn’t they extend the warranty on the entire transmission since the class action? What you’re saying is exactly what happened with my sister’s 2014, they replaced the B clutch twice and eventually said they would need to pay for a new trans, but after the class action she got it under warranty

Wear your messing up at is using that impact to turn those clutch forks you should be doing it by hand

I have a 2014 Focus, currently in the shop (5-5-24). The clutch recall was for 7 years. I was too late for that but when I bought it, I got the 10 year extended warranty. I bought it on 4-10-14 and checked it int the shop on 4-9-24. The extended warranty covered the clutch replacement. 👍 😁✌🖖

This seems to be the cause of a lot of the "TCM" problems. People definitely need to try just cleaning the actuators before spending big bucks on expensive parts like the TCM. Because if it's sticking actuators, a new TCM won't fix it, but WILL cost you thousands.

good vid. Should we add some lube in there after the brake cleaner ? I did, I actually used WD, didn't have my brake cleaner handy. Which btw they have replaced the TCM, was free of charge. Did not fix the problem. My conclusion to all of these problems with the shifting. ( after watching many videos about cleaning and changing actuators, TCM's, etc. ) Bad TCM->slipping clutch->lots of extra clutch dust from slipping clutch->clogged actuator shift forks. So, they should be putting in new actuators free of charge as part of this recall. Was quoted $3000. to put in a new clutch because they couldn't get the code to clear. Mine was friction element A stuck on, P07A3

Hi, I have a 2016 ford focus 2.0L version. Overnight simply my car decided that it would not be able to shift gears properly. I am shown the error message P07A5:00-EC. Will the method presented by you be helpful? I do not hide mechanics immediately want to replace the entire transmission and the cost of such a repair immediately 1/3 of the value of the car.

That’s a very short term fix. Need to remove the gearbox and clean the clutch dust out. It’s the same as brake pad dust, it gets everywhere and clogs the internal moving parts. So in short remove gearbox remove dust from all internal part or replace with new parts.

nice example of "how you should/could doing a content" - great shooting and editing, and good explaining the main goal of the video. I would add some aspects as error code explanation or "how many turns exactly should clutch tool do?", but anyway, you deserve thumbs up!

PO90c means low voltade to accuator b ,so it is not the accuator,It get's it's voltage from the TCM ,The TCM is failing intermitatly.That's why if you relace accuator and clear codes it takes a while for no reverse and code to come back.TCM is failing intermitatly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Omg thank you @stevebrana7098... not to keep posting my comment but I'm looking doe a connection between the tcm and clutches. Because one needs the other to function but the dealer saying it's not a tcm problem I just today spoke to the ford dealer and ford customer service (no reverse & P090C code) . Dealer said I'm not covered since it's an internal issue. States I need clutches, forks, bearings.. Ford customer service said clutch is related to tcm and to get a 2nd diagnosis

@@Nellopi22 The dealer is lying, or the guy you're speaking to just doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. We just went through this, my brother and I. It is absolutely the TCM not supplying enough voltage (current) to the actuator. Again; the TCM is not supplying enough voltage (current) to the actuator. The code P090C is literally: "Clutch 'B' Actuator Control **Circuit Low** " So I don't know why that dude on the phone is telling you it's not the TCM, because it very much is. Brother and I replaced the TCM, had it reprogrammed at the dealership, car worked great after that.

My 2015 Se just started doing this. I got P090C. I swapped the upper and lower to test if it was an actuator issue, but got the same result however it won't reverse at all.

Thank you sir for this very educational video. Mine just did this over the weekend. I have that recall paper but had no trouble with it. They've already messed with the TCM one time at about 70,000 mi. But now it won't go into reverse and slips out of gear. So I think this might help if I can do this. Thank you again. -Robert

😂 This method is incorrect, you have to do it with a manual tool and rotate it 25 times counterclockwise and at the end let go and it will return somewhat quickly by itself😢

Thanks for the information and video. My 2013 focus just started to do this. I was pulling out of a parking stall, I put it in drive and i had no first gear. There was no check engine light eithet. Is this code not related to the engine or a stored code. I haven't scanned the OBD yet. I did turn the car off. Turned it back on. Then i had all gears and reverse. I going to replace both of them with OEM Motorcraft ones. What do you think? I will wonder if the new OEM Motorcraft's are updated? Maybe this part, just wears out. My focus has 72k. Ford should have left the same transmission from the earlier models. Also changed the lower rear mount to the Electric focus of the same year. Made a big difference. I used a aftermarket solid mount, however it made the car have too much vibration. Also run your tires at 38 psi (cold) Give it a try

This definitely works. However be careful doing this not to let the bit slip off and allowing it to slam shut. They can break internally then the trans has to come out.

@@kylekorn3816 it will spin freely by hand. Depending on which one A or B you'll lose those gears. If it's on the bottom no reverse, second, fourth, or sixth.

Yes you can use sx90 or wd40. You can use brake clean or carburetor cleaner. Yor know when your transmission is slipping when you put it in drive or reverse and it hesitates to go. Or it doesn't move at all. Typically it's the forks not engaging the clutch

Bull crap , I just changed the alternator and the Transmission is working 100%, is obviously when the alternator is starting to fail that the Transmission stops working properly
